There has never been a time in my life where I wasn't around trucks,

Ive been riding in them since I was a new born baby. I knew I was going to do this for a living since I was a very young kid. I guess that is why I never really applied myself in school even though I was smart, I just knew what I was going to be doing and didn't bother trying really hard because I knew I was never going to college.

    Hey Redd,
I think I know where your coming from, I currently work as a civilian mechanic on military aircraft. Did 21 years in the Navy (aircraft Mechanic), then did what I always wanted to do, I went Truckin for 6 years, became a single parent, so I had to fall back on my Military training.

I have now gotten my social and financial life squared away and want to again pursue my driving career, hopefully around January time frame.

    Right now Its all research.

Money's good, I was makin $23.99 hr, as a contractor, then picked up the civil service gig, took a $6.00 hr. pay cut. but it was job security.

My hearts not in it, and I don't like it. I thank God it was there when I needed it, but its a means to an end. And I have my Military pension, and great healthcare as a vet for me and my family, so I dont need to worry about paying for some high dollar healthcare.

My new wife is good with me going back to driving, My boy will be off to Boot camp next month, and my daughter is now 13.

    Im ready to go. again.

Sorry for the long winded post. But for me, its not all about money, its about getting up and wanting to go to work and not feeling like a rat in a cage.:biggrin_25511:
