A penny a mile? That isn't going to pay for anything!

With a new truck it isn't uncommon for the owner to put a nickle per mile to the side for maintenance. With an older truck.... I'd say a dime per mile!

Yeah, you're right there, for a single truck that is low. I was thinking on the basis of the number of trucks we had a while back.

Welcome to the forum! Sometimes you need to spend money to make it, and getting off on the right foot seems like the money is well worth while.

Now I realize that Ben got laid off by his HVAC company. Sorry to hear that. But I really wonder if he will make more money working in partnership with you, than he would working HVAC for a going company. I know things are tight in construction right now, but the folks that I know in HVAC make pretty good bucks.

OTOH, you would NEVER see me crawling around someone else's attic or crawl space to repair/replace ducting!

Anyway good luck to you guys and again, welcome to the forum!

I have made my mind up. If this management job I applied for doesn't pan out, I am applying for authority. I am sick of working for slave wages. If I am going to go broke, it will be at my own hand and not that of a company taking advantage. I've ran the numbers and with insurance at $7000 a year and tralrt rental (refer) at about $1600 a month, I am a #### fool for working for someone else.

Honestly, I hadn't looked into buying yet. All I did was preliminary research. If I can finance a trailer for 24 months and keep the payments below the rental cost then buying is a no brainer.
