    Perhaps the question to ask the drivers these days is how many have brought home pay checks of $300.00 or less after being out for 2 weeks. Then ask how things are going with their partnership with US Xpress.

    AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. They lie something bad. The recruiter Doug well treat you like your his best friend till you need him. I got hired in there drove out to orientation passed the physical and drug test. Passed the pre-trip insp. test the load look down test. Was getting ready for the road test. Some broad from the office came and got me out of class to tell me that they were not going to hire me. When I asked why all they would tell me was hippa law says they could not tell me. It was a bunch of BS in my opinion. AVOID THEM.

    Yep Arrow trucking is the prime example of that comment..the old man took care of the business and the drivers, handed it down to his spoiled brat son.

    Spoiled son only cared about the money in HIS pocket..bought cars houses.. trips...ect ..ect. and stopped paying the bills, falsified records.. and stole from all of his employees. I hope they put him in a cell with a bunch of ex truck drivers.. at least a little bit of justice will be served then.

    Hi I drive for Smith Transport going on 10 yrs and a lot of changes have gone on but i still see that Smith is a better company than a lot of others out there. Due your job and run the freight don't complain all the time but let them know when miles are short.This is a trucking company and they need good drivers they do train new drivers and also retrain you if you came from a company like Swift or Werner with a driving record is a little less than perfect

    Smith has done away with Holiday pay, vacation pay and if you're out for 3 weeks you get 2 days home time. Company won't let you to draw more than $100.00 per week. Oh yes,the DMs that have been with the company for years are disappearing left and right too!

    RBK the company made changes to remain in business so that over 1,000 people could continue to have jobs. Holiday pay was $50. Are you really going to miss $50 after tax & health insurance? Vacation pay was not "done away with;" it was changed. No one agrees with it and Mr. Smith regretted having to do it but it was a cost-saving measure to remain in business. As far as only being able to draw $100 a week? Smith is a trucking company, not a bank. Remember that $100 comes out of the pay check if no receipts are turned in so guess what? That means less take-home pay if the drivers are borrowing against it all week. What would the complaint be then???

    To mack1999. They route you. To Guess Who - you have apparently MUCH information. Tell me, do you REALLY believe there are 1000 people left working there? Drivers quitting left and right (and these aren't the short timers either. These are guys like you with many years invested with Smith. Even the good mechanics are quitting) They've been putting ads in newspapers that they have NEVER had ads in before.Also, can you live on the road for 7 days on $100.00? These guys are charged $7.95 for EACH cash advance and yes it does come out of the drivers pay BUT who is making the money for the company? Who is delivering the loads? Who's out there day after day putting up with all the bull? Are you telling me that to drive on todays highways, put up with the grief that a grocery warehouse will give, deal with monthly visits to safety because their "software says" logs aren't right. (I understand that this is for the driver's and the company's own good BUT someone operating the computer might want to have a clue as to what they are doing.) I could go on and on especially on logs they claim they didn't receive but they did receive the other log that was enclosed in the trip pack with it! I honestly think Smith is really struggling these days and is cutting every place they can to keep their head above water. For years these guys were able to get extra.(I'm not talking 200-300 either! Just enough to live on the road and no extras either! Even the Gov. allows more than $14.29 per day!) Especially when their truck breaks down and they're left laid up for more than a day and can't stay in their truck. THEN Smith refuses to do right by the driver. You're right, Smith did have to do something BUT is it Smith or US Xpress? Funny how what goes on in one company and short time later its going on in Smith. US Xpress was a $100.00 draw - now $50.00 ? That what I heard. Oh yes, you said you'd been there for 10 years- did you keep getting your bonus ALL this time? Also, are you one of the ones with "inside" help? AGAIN - see if you can live 7 days a week on $100.00. Yep, Smith did make changes. Oh yes, what happened to ALL the DMs that have disappeared over the last couple of months?
