Will this prevent me from being hired?

Why would companies care if you have sleep apnea or not? It's not like you are driving in your sleep. If they are worried you'll be over-tired or something from not getting enough proper sleep, isn't what happens to most drivers anyway?

No, I am serious. As long as you have the machine or whatever, what difference does it make? And if they are worried about somebody dying, what about(said with absolute seriousness here) all of the truck drivers out there that are overweight and eating artery clogging, fatty, heart attack on a plate foods every day because they find it too hard to eat healthy in the truck? Aren't the companies worried about those guys and gals having a heart attack or a stroke either while they are off duty or, god forbid, driving?

 

Why would fleets care if you sleep or not? I dunno...maybe because it's important to ensuring safe and compliant operation of a CMV. Maybe because the insurance company doesn't want to pay multi-million dollar settlements due to a driver running over/into a school bus full of kids because he/she was tired.
