only if your residents will be in texas you will need to maintain your cdl license from the state of your residents home of record

And Stevens will put you on medical hold until their doctor clears you...they are self insured.
Because of the self insurance for workers comp, legal under texas law, Stevens is a lot stricter than many other companies when it comes to Blood pressure, heart rate, weight.... even too much sugar in your urine will get you put on medical hold.
If you do not disclose old surgeries, and they find out about them that is a reason to disqualify you for providing a false application.djtrucker Thanks this. -

Got repowered three times yesterday. Finally got one to stick! I was hooking and unhooking trailers like some yard dog. The guys around me at the J in Barstow must have thought I got off on scaling loads.
Off to LA bright and early where I took a three drop load and was done by1000.
Dana sent me off to Ontario where I figured I was going to spend the night. Took a shower, rented a car to go visit my son and got a load.
that must be the trick to get a load out of California. go rent a car!
So I'm here in Victorville tonight at the Pilot. Picking up a two drop load of candy in the morning and headed first to Salt Lake, then to Boise.
WhooHooo! Finally getting home!
Funny thing is as soon as I get to Boise, we have to fly down to San Diego to take care of some old business.
Oh well...get to see some old friends while we're there.
Gabby's been all over me..."when you going to do your home time so you can come over to the dark...er..Alliance side?"
It's great to be wanted! -

Hey all. Got that late load from Amarillo Tyson repowered from me on Saturday night. The load I traded was to Kraft in Granite City. That is now unloaded and I got a new tire for the trailer at TA in Troy IL. Now I'm waiting for a load. Probably won't get one until tomorrow, you know how overnight dispatch is. I'm also now 400 miles from finishing the grad fleet. This next load should put me over and then back down to Dallas for grad classes and crap. sigh. More downtime. Anyway, at least I'm not as broke as I was working in radio.
Even not running as much as I could be, I can afford to get a used laptop and eat and pay what bills I have. Hoping that once I'm off grad fleet I'll see more miles. At least I won't be in Dallas for a week each month.
Saw a nasty accident in Indiana on 70 at about exit 11. Looked like a Volkswagon bug or something that size rammed all the way under the backside of a truck trailer. Just some bright green showing behind and under the rear of the trailer. The truck was sitting at a stoplight under the overpass.
Hope you are all doing well. Be good and keep the shiny side up. -
Smokr, do you remember the mileage requirement for the completion of grad fleet?
I finally made it out of California. I am taking my break in Anthony, Texas. California can be a dangerous place to be because of the way the Stevens system works. You are at the mercy of the produce shippers and often times there are three or more picks that have to be completed before actually rolling. This can make it easy to fall behind on a load which will make a repower a sure thing. This is where the frustration of many drivers comes in because you just wasted two days getting the product, getting a few hundred miles on it, and then getting repowered back into California to do the same thing. This is very detrimental to one's miles.
I was told today that when I deliver this load it is back to the yard for completion of grad fleet. This truck has 540k miles so hopefully I can also get a newer truck with APU. -
