I know a guy who has done this for Roehl, and Schneider, so I figured Id do it for USX. I started orientation today. So far, not bad. Not great, but what can you expect with an inductee class of 100 people? They seem to try hard to keep things organized, but the majority of the first day was sitting around waiting for everyone to get finished drug testing and getting physicals. Then the majority of the rest of the time was spent waiting for everyone to finish road testing. In 11 hours I managed to get a physical, eeat some horrible meat loaf, and take a road test. I will give them credit for also making sure that the other 99 people accomplished the same thing. Not a bad experience so far, but definitely not my favorite. All in all, about what I expected. Just curious to see if the account I was hired on for actually exists.

Well, so far Ive missed the last two days of orientation due to a family emergency, however its not like it would have mattered really. I just found out that I have to get an accident report for a wreck I was involved in back in April 2009, non-preventable, I might add. They cant hire me until they have it, and according to the North Carolina DMV I have to print a form, and send it via snail mail to get it. My recruiter says as long as I have it within 30 days they wont have to make me retake the drug test and road test that I completed the first day. Always something.

Why do they need the accident report? Just curious, because I was thinking about applying there, I have an accident from 05/09, not my fault, I was hit from behind and pushed into the car ahead of me.
Im wondering if they will want the accident report from that. I do have letters from the insurance company that says it was not my fault

Im not sure, but I would say that if you are thinking of applying, go ahead and get a copy of the accident report. I had one on my all the time for about a year, and I eventually threw it out. So now I cant just get the local PD where I had the accident to fax it. They only keep them for a year, so now I have to fill out a form and overnight it to the DMV in North Carolina and wait to receive it via snail mail. I havent been asked for one up until now, and they even told me that the company I was with when I had the accident told them that it was not my fault, but they refuse to fax a copy of the report.

This may or may not turn out to be a long thread !!!!!
