Well maybe you can share your story with the other new drivers to show them what can go wrong. I believe hometime is what kills most of these newbies when they fleece. I think that is one of the biggest aspects of the whole thing that really put them in a downward spiral. If you are able to get another trucking job do yourself a favor and run your truck for AT LEAST one year as if you were an o/o. You know that 1600-1800 miles a week roughly breaks you even as far as truck payment, ins, and permits. So now you only have fuel, scales, tolls, washes, breakdowns, health ins, tires, food, etc... On top of that you are going to want to put aside about $250 a week so that once a month you can take a few days without missing your fleece payment. Pay yourself $.90-.96 cents a mile which is actually above the going rate. Make sure that when you break down you are adding that in too! Oh no, you just got the flu and are down for an unexpected week! Don't forget these moments! See how you do. Then make your decision from there. They should have an o/o school for people who have driven two years and are considering o/o. By the way, all this is just to let you know how to fleece. Real owner/operators have a lot more on their plate! You have to know how to broker too! Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions

Yknow, one thing that puzzles me over the years is the schlockey ads that these places put out. "We want to make YOU alot of money" or "We want YOU to have this million dollar home on this private lake". What's puzzling??? That so #### many of us fall for this crap!!!!

Right now I bet you a good percentage of the guys who got ripped would turn right around and do it again saying "But this time it's different".:biggrin_25513:

Some people are like fish. No matter what is behind the shiny object they will still bite at it and try to eat it!

I guess it was my fault for leaving too much money in the Comdata account, they saw an opportunity to take advantage and did it.

All this after I stayed out 3 months with no home time trying to show dispatch I would run. Well I see now where it got me.

Had my own business for 30 years ( construction ) and thought I had met every crook in the business but the economy crooks got me.

Oh by the way I live at the last house on Poor Street.

Go down to Savannah, you'll be in a truck before next friday.

Just depends what you want to do.

Screw DAC, work for an outfit that doesn't use it.
