congrats barracuda....
dj, there is only one pilot truck stop in fort worth. There are always stevens trucks there too...we pick up and delivery to Kraft, and the railhead over by the airport.
I too will be headed to the yard on Friday morning, as soon as I drop this load at Kraft...wish I had more hours today, I would have dropped it today. Oh well.
Hope to catch up with you guys on the yard...
My lease is done, time to resign.Barracuda905 Thanks this. -

I made it back to the yard not too long ago and already I can't wait to leave. I was given a whole laundry list of things to do. Hopefully, I should get most of it done tomorrow and be on my way on Saturday. In addition to the quarterly safety talk and compliance, I also have to do the VDPD workshop (4 hours) and attend a class on life insurance. When I walked into the main entrance there is a list of what are called "MPG Masters". I was pleasantly surprised to find my name and truck number on that list. I was nowhere near the top but I was also far enough away from the bottom to be respectable.

Atta Boy! from your great and humble former trainer. I knew two things. You'd be on the list and you'd not be at the top of it.
the guys at the top are getting paid less than you since they have to move slower to get that mpg. At $30/week fuel bonus, getting up to the next higher bonus doesn't have a return to you. It costs you.
Stevens still hasn't fixed it yet on the company side, but on alliance, the fuel savings of the higher mileage people will pay you well.Barracuda905 Thanks this. -
Well, I'm no longer at the FlyingJ. Now I'm at the TA in Baytown where they sent me to get the trailer worked on. Seems the shop at the yard is busy, and they want me to haul a load to the yard instead of deadheading, and they want the trailer fixed before I load. It is taking all day to fix the door hinge on the trailer. The bolts won't go through the door the guy says, and then they changed shifts, and the new guy is having the same problem. Plus the hinge bracket has been bent back, probably because someone backed into a dock way too hard.
So, now I have another day no driving. sigh
Then God only knows how long pissing around on the yard. This month I'm doing horrible! No miles, no income, and my bills don't shrink because my income does. I think I've made less than I did during training.
Anyway, used TA points to get online and going to Hulu my ### off for a while.
Later days all. -
smokr get yourself to the yard, barracuda and I are here, we could have a great time.

I am pissed about one thing...I was told the reason they couldn't get me home for the last month (literally) is there were not loads going or coming from Idaho. I passed 7 Stevens trucks between the Idaho/Utah line and Boise (about 200 miles). In the TA in Boise were three Stevens trucks.
Think Dana was stretching the truth?
