1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

My top driver will make $65K this year and be home 36-48 hours each weekend. We are looking for both open deck and van drivers and independent contractors. We prefer drivers to work out of our Dubuque or Waterloo terminals, but will consider drivers that live in MN, WI, IL, IN, OH, PA or MD. Check our our website, www.papetransfer.com. Contact me if you would like more information.

Whats the starting pay and will you take a driver that has been off the road for 4 years? I am in a refresher course right now through the military. What is the milage like per week? Can I stay out longer then the 5 or 6 days a week? My email is jandrtrans@YAHOO.COM

Probably won't happen. Many drivers that find good companies will boast about how good they are and are willing to disclose their wages, but will NEVER reveal who they work for. Not even a slight hint. Just my observation over the past several months on these types of drivers.

But, with your experience, many big companies will hire you. Probably not the best places to work for, but they might hire you non the less. Good luck to you! :biggrin_25522:

The dead giveaway here is the comment "My top Driver"

This is the guy who probably has been there for 40 years.

You notice there was no posting of an average pay.

I don't have anything to hide. Average pay doesn't grab the attention as much as top pay. My average driver will run 115000-120000 miles and make in the neighborhood of $55K. I don't have exact numbers at home, but could easily take a look at them on Monday. Actually, my drivers that have been with me the longest are not my top earners. They are more financially secure, and usually choose to be in the 2000-2200 mi per week range. They prefer longer weekends at home.
