During the first two weeks of training, new students are restricted to the number of hours they can drive and which hours can be driven.
I don't remember the numbers, however, if you're driving after midnight or before (I think) 0600, there are certain restrictions. As an example, any driver driving during the 'dangerous' hours, after midnight, must call safety for a late hours talk.
He may have driven during the 'forbidden' hours or perhaps you did.
Yes, you are right. Safety can trump any department there...and they DO win!

Sorry but your trainer violated the rule that the truck MUST stop for 8 hours out of every 24, with a student on board. The trainer slit his own throat. He does it again, and he will loose his training status, and be routed directly to the yard.

Stevens expects each and every driver to obey the policies, to run legal. The trainers have additional rules they must abide by. Sorry for your misfortune, but learn from his mistake, and communicate, communicate, and always run legal.

This has nothing to do with a pissing contest, and if you think that is what it is about, you will not survive at Stevens Transport.

I talked to my counselor. I told her that my trainer took one hundred percent responsobility for screwing up and that I DID understand why they did what they did but it was just frustrating as hell to be so close to obtaining two major goals of my training and have them snatched from my grasp. She listened to me and said she understood. She did her job. I was venting and I just needed some empathy from someone not a lecture like I received from that jerk and you. Don't worry dude. You are right. This is not my forum or blog or whatever and I will leave it to you real truckers.

I guess taking advise from people that have been in his shoes pissed him off. A short fuse such as his probably will have a serious affect on how far he goes in this biz.
