I went home for the day like i normally do but got a call from the owner saying bring your truck in to the shop in the morning. So i ask why and he tells me that he is going out of business. #### that sucks it was the best job i ever had.
So I am going to take a couple of weeks off and spend some time with my family. My daughter will turn one in a few weeks and i plan on spending time with her.
I just hope when i go back to work i can find a decent job. If not i'll stay home and make the wife make more money.haha

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

The same thing happened to me during the recession of 1982. First, my lease was canceled and the company placed me with one of their fleet owners. Then, the fleet owner was forced into bankruptcy. I had phoned from Chicago saying the truck would not crank over, but I could start it by towing it. "Should I get it repaired in Chicago or bring it to his shop in Muskegon?" He said, "Try to get a load toward Muskegon, but in any case, take it to the dealership by Saturday and give the key to the shop foreman. We are out of business." So, I phoned my wife and asked her to meet me in Muskegon on Saturday.
My employer, RW Service System, offered a truck from another small fleet owner and I drove for another year. That owner was on the ropes also and would not accept collect phone calls. When we were at his shop for repairs, we slept in our trucks in his garage. The first driver to wake up, threw a log into the wood burner. I quit. -
Sorry to hear about the job loss. It sucks when that happens.

Mind I ask who you worked for? I see your from johnstown, I used to run 56 down through Seward into johnstown to deliver building products. I know there's a whole heck of ALOT of coal trucks that hammer that road, same with vaccum trucks from the gas wells. May be something to look into.

I have an opening for a cdl driver with a small company. We haul dedicated year round work. pays 1000 to 1500 a week depending on how hard you want to work. problem is I have an empty truck and need a driver now. If you are not able to come to work, get me a call in a couple of weeks as I will have added another truck to the fleet. Give me a call at least we can talk about it. I wish there were someway, I could bring you to work now and then you could spend sometime at home on your daughter's birthday. thanks, Terry. 859-247-0186 -
