For what is worth, does anyone know what group of drivers have the most accidents? Is it the greenhorn, the 5-8 yr driver or the 20+ year vet.

It seems that your company did. Based on the fact that you passed a test that met minimal state mandated qualifications.
You asked about trainer vs. no trainer.
That question has been responded to. Several times in fact.

Darn and here I thought you were following along, oh well. As it stands for me the argument in favor of the trainer hasn't been very strong. In case you are uniformed which seems to be the case here, in order to be hired by most companies you have to have a certificate of certification from the school you attended for which their standards far exceed those minimal state mandates you espoused.
Good luck to all the noobs no matter which path you choose. The case can and has been made, if you so chose and after careful consideration come to the conclusion you have the skill and where with all to hit the big road sans a trainer, there are companies out there willing to cut to apron strings and treat you like a mature adult. -
Really? I guess there a two different sets of data floating around out there. From my gatherings it's the 5-8 year group. Go figure, they must not have had a trainer when they began.

we have a SUPER TRUCKER!!!!!!! It's your loss by not having a trainer. Good luck though. Don't forget to wear your fingerless gloves and don't block the fuel island or scale.
I always did wonder if SUPER TRUCKERS were instantly SUPER TRUCKERS or if they progressed into the role. -
We seem to have a wanna be at any rate. -
Don't just make blanket statements there, repo. Rub a couple of them brain cells together an put forth a coherent argument. If those examples above are what I need to learn from a trainer, I can't help but feel ahead of the game.

I also chose Watkins Shepard because I did not want to go with a trainer. I did not want to share a truck with a stranger and be on HIS time. The 10 day at Watkins was good, I learned alot. A few things now after driving for 5 weeks I would like to see added I will mention them to training once I get back to Missoula.
