In the early morning hours of June 7, 2010 a tractor trailer on Interstate 91 south ran out of fuel. Unit was fully loaded with poland spring water. She made arrangements for road service. While the road service truck was there another tractor trailer fully loaded with poland spring water as well lost control somehow and slammed into the rear of this unit out of fuel. Went down the entire side of this unit out of fuel tore open both trailers ripped the rear axle out of the unit that was out of fuel hit the road service truck continued up the road and down a small embankment. Very sad to say the young gentleman from the road service truck was killed he was crushed between the guard rails and the truck that had run out of fuel. In the first photo you will see the trailer for the unit that was out of fuel and the drivers side roof rail is missing. In a few photos later you will see the aluminum roof rail is sticking out the back door of the trailer that hit the one out of fuel. This was a very horrific accident that involved intense labor and clean up. Both units were destroyed nothing was towable. Both trailers were torn open so everything had to be off loaded. As I said this was a very long and labor intense job. I hope everyone enjoys the photos.

I'm not sure "enjoys" is the right word about the photos. It's sad that a human life was lost here, and I doubt there is any reason for it other than driver negligence.

I was parked on the shoulder early one morning in AL.on I65 North of Mobile,AL.I was waiting on a service truck I thought at least three big trucks were going to hit me before the tanker that did hit me.I watched the sleeping driver run over all three of my triangles, then run down my flatbed trailer, then his fuel tank on the right side caught my rear drive axle and broke that set of wheels off the axle.

All this happened in 1980 when there was a whole lot less traffic than now.Parking on the shoulder is my absolutely last choice.

Very sad, someone will be out of a job, possible jail, and then pay out the butt for the rest of his life money wise.. Another lost a loved one, father, son, cousin, uncle, husband, friend etc... Very sad indeed...

My God...I drove by this that morning, only going the opposite direction. I had no idea it was that serious in that a life was lost.

Thats too bad, since less loss of life and property.

By the way it would be nice if you reduced the size of the pics before posting them.

Im amazes me how many people park on the shoulder to read a map or what ever. The 4 wheelers are even worse. If that driver wouldn't have run out of fuel, the whole thing could have been avoided.
