Tow truck driver crushed while on road call by semi

this happened last month...but pics were just posted...pics and info from tow and recovery guys who cleaned up accident....very sad....

In the early morning hours of June 7, 2010 a tractor trailer on Interstate 91 south ran out of fuel. Unit was fully loaded with poland spring water. She made arrangements for road service. While the road service truck was there another tractor trailer fully loaded with poland spring water as well lost control somehow and slammed into the rear of this unit out of fuel. Went down the entire side of this unit out of fuel tore open both trailers ripped the rear axle out of the unit that was out of fuel hit the road service truck continued up the road and down a small embankment. Very sad to say the young gentleman from the road service truck was killed he was crushed between the guard rails and the truck that had run out of fuel. In the first photo you will see the trailer for the unit that was out of fuel and the drivers side roof rail is missing. In a few photos later you will see the aluminum roof rail is sticking out the back door of the trailer that hit the one out of fuel. This was a very horrific accident that involved intense labor and clean up. Both units were destroyed nothing was towable. Both trailers were torn open so everything had to be off loaded. As I said this was a very long and labor intense job. I hope everyone enjoys the photos.

 

yeah I thought that same thing when I read it....cant say "enjoy" would be the right word.....it is very tragic that a life was lost...espec. like you said....prob. driver negligence...you can see the truck that was hit WAS on the shoulder so.....shouldnt have happened..very sad...
