Once you get up the cash reserves, where you no longer care about a debit hold on your account. Get a Chase cash back rewards debit card and run it as credit. You get 3% back on fuel (groceries, fast food, and other stuff) if you put more than a grand on the card a month. $3 x $0.03 is $0.09 = even after paying the additional 5 cents per gallon at loves for credit ... you still get 4 cents back (shouldn't have to tell ya, but this margin gets wider in your favor as the price goes up)

Im getting setup with a TCH card. If you use the card at a Flying J or Pilot, you get the cash price PLUS a $.03/gal discount. However, in return for that they want to auto-debit on MON/WED/FRI (3x a week).

The people at TCH are wonderful. I asked for a $2k credit line, they gave me a $3k line. If I fuel at FlyingJ or Pilot, the funds are paid M-W-F, and no fee. If I fuel anywhere else, its a 1x a week withdrawal and $1.80 fee. I also filled out an app for a TAB Bank account checking account. Looks interesting.

Do they charge a feel for each transaction? We use EFS, its accepted pretty much everywhere, cash price and I can issue T-checks for repairs. There is a small fee for each transaction though...

As long as I fuel at Flying J or Pilot = $0 fee.

..I only use the card though for FUEL, no checks or cash advances.

That's what I do. There is a little mom and pop place (and I mean LITTLE) south of Denver that is usually 30 cents cheaper than the big chains in Denver :biggrin_25514:

I use the Flying J Owner Operator card. I get CASH price at Flying J, Pilot, Petro, and TA. There are NO transaction fees, hell, there are NO fees at all, zero! It is a Debit card though, I reload it when I need to directly out of my checking account. You can also get the Flying J Money Card, it does the same thing but its not a multiple card account. Once again, it is a FREE card, and it is a MasterCard so you can use it for anything, without fees, from a candybar, to a car, its free as long as you have available funds.

BY FAR the worse Fuel Card. They automatically enroll you in programs you don't need and charge you money. Then threaten not to give you a refund if you opt out. Just another example of these companies taking advantage of truckers. Get these people out of your pockets.
