Well as usual, this is interesting. I feel strongly about misinformation--but yet I am seeing nothing that discourages the "hype". I apologize for anything deemed "horrible". Do you truly think I am wrong???!!!

You are wrong, do some research on how the system will work and you will finded out, but i will say it one more time,IF A INSPECTION REPORT IS NOT FILLED OUT AT THE TIME OF A STOP AND ONLY A TICKET OR WARRNING IS ISSUED IT WILL NOT GO ON THE CSA2010 RECORD this comes direct from the federal dot as heard on land line radio.

Not to mention a number of interviews with FMCSA officials on both "Dave Nemo" and "The Lockridge Report" shows on Roaddog. No inspection report, no CSA2010 points.

Wonder how that would work with an accident that didn't get a DOT bear involved? Hmmm...

Just had our quarterly safety meeting...and "key note speaker" was the Northern CA Division Head for DOT. the main topic of course was the CSA 2010 issues. Especially the rumors that are going around about the points and how they will be administered/delivered.

First point was, as somebody earlier posted, 3 times value in the first 6 months, 2 times value second 6 months, and value thru second year, HALF value third year....but that issue is still being debated from the powers that be with the start of CSA 2010. As the Capt. said, he doesn't understand why they named it CSA 2010...he does not see it happening in 2010, probably late (or mid) 2011. Even the CHP/DOT officers have not had any classes on the issues they will be dealing with about CSA 2010.

Second point: ONLY FROM AN INSPECTION CAN POINTS BE "AWARDED" TO A DRIVER AND COMPANY! A TICKET FROM THE ROAD WILL NOT DO IT. IT MUST BE AN INSPECTION. But often along with an inspection comes a ticket...also, there technically will be no more of the "fix-it" tickets. Because, the violation will have occurred/been found, by the inspection...so from this "fix-it" ticket, the driver will not be put OOS, but must get the repairs at earliest convenience...but the inspection form has been generated and forwarded on, so even though no points are given to your DMV system for the "fix-it" ticket, you will get the points on the CSA side.

I can't find any other way to get a speeding ticket that counts on the csa but in reading a article about some companies that are in the pilot program I did see where one was having trouble with speeding tickets and warnings. The article didn't say where the tickets were coming from but it did say they are changing the co. policy so that any driver who gets 3 speeding tickets or warnings in 3 years would lose there job. I do know that if you are pulled over for an inspection, it counts as a speeding warning whether you were speeding or not. Could they be checking you mvr when they come in to do an audit and assigning points there also? They are getting accident info somewhere and not all accidents are worked by the dot.
