Thanks for all the information you guys have posted. I will use it wisely. Nlb75 the reason I have to be away from my wife is not by choice. I tried to look for local jobs but no one is hiring right now local Its the way i have to feed by family. The bills dont stop coming cause she is sick . The Mortage lenders for house dont care what your sisuation is they just want there money or your out in the street. GOD knows i would love to be there for her and the kids but i've got to feed them too. im try my best to look for a job pulling containers out of savannah port i hear it pays pretty good and its closer to home and not otr. I cant believe the company im with screwed me over so bad , it caused me to get behinde on my bills. They lie to us new drivers who havent a clue how any of this works. They sucker you into a lease and then you kill yourself trying to get the miles and still end up in the negetive. I knew a guy that did the lease too i went to school with and he has 6 kids and hasnt made one cent stayed in the red zone all -ngetive. So how can that be legal to screw men over with these families like this. Do these poeple not care that they have lil ones to feed? Anyhow live and learn and do better next time so thats what im trying to stay focused on. Have a Blessed day everyone.
Everett Thanks this. -
No man she isnt sick cause she stayed home too much . My wife used to work as a medical assistant night shift for a nursing home for 10 years on 3rd shift. She is a go getter. She got struck down with overian cancer. Her chemo makes her sick man. So be careful what you say about people you dont know. She took care of many sick people for years. She is only 33. Well anyhow GOD is good he will get us throught it. I have no doubt with my faith in him . Please just be careful what you post thanks.

No, these companies don't care. The best way, IMO, to protect yourself with a lease/purchase, is to have a lawyer take a look at it. I'm sure some drivers have done this. But I've been around long enough to know, that it doesn't matter what a lawyer says to some. That is if the lawyer even knows what he's talking about. Some guys go into it thinking they're smarter than the average, but find out after it's too late, that they're not.
Now my advice may be off base. But if I wanted my own truck, I think I'd be looking at a dealer to lease/purchase from. Then lease on with a company.
I'm sorta in the same boat you're in, and really it's not a joking matter.
Hey, I think SNI hauls in and out of the port. I've been there before, and I swear I saw some SNI intermodal in there.
Good luck to ya!
BTW, I quit driving to stay at home due to sick wife as well.I regret my comment, I should have looked at myself first.Last edited: Jul 31, 2010

Secondly...the apology lead the statement, and cautioned any reading it that it was intended to "lighten the mood" not abuse or poke fun AT any individual.
In my years as a medic/firefighter, and as a mortician...I found that HUMOR was one of the best "mood busters" than any consoling, comforting, trite statements. Everybody, in any situation, good or bad, when approached with a smile and a friendly word, can and will find a bit of humor in any issue...be it a sarcastic quip, or a snide, laughing comment about the situation or surrounding event....maybe you should try it!
And ALL my cancer families appreciated my jovial way of dealing with trauma, future loss, and immediate loss...it tends to relieve a strained event, and opens others up to be more natural, instead of the forced "quiet and condescending mundane talk. Ask any DR....be it Psych, Surgeon, Oncologist or Dentist...LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE!

I, too, have been with both. With SNI right now, three years in Sept.
I'll take SNI hands-down, no question.
Good luck to you no matter what you end up doing. And Godspeed to you and your wife. 33 is very young. You'll be in my prayers for sure. -
i hope the best for u and your family hope u find something that works for u best wishes to your wife i'll keep her in my prays
