I have the hidden files shown. Additionally, I have a backup of my PC b4 I did the update, so I can always restore from there. What directory/files am I looking for? BTW it is a Vista OS PC. Thanks again for the help.

Hey Mark, here in Oklahoma in Okmulgee and all the way 15 miles south of Okmulgee to Henryetta the TND 700 shows US-75 to be weight restricted. This is not a weight restricted route. This route is good for 80,000 pounds gross weight plus and has been for years. Any possibility this is in the works to be corrected? Even on this road US-75 when we haul oversize loads down south out of Tulsa, OK they route us on our permits down this road US-75 all the way to I-40. Please let me know what you find out or know about this issue. Thanks.

I am having two serious problems with my 700. I'm wondering if anyone else is having these same things and how do you deal with them?
first, for some unknown reason, it wants to route me off a freeway at whatever ramp, then right back on.
An example is today I was heading up I-75 from Atlanta to Nashville. It routed me off at exit 44 and right back up the on ramp. I skipped the tour, but can't figure it out. Yesterday, it did the same thing on I-85 between Charlotte and Atlanta in a couple places. There were no POIs at these ramps and I had never looked at anything off the freeway around these areas.
The second problem is the system seems to want to route me around my butt to get to my elbow on many trips. An example is the same trip today. I had a stop scheduled in Murfreesboro right off I-24. Literally off the ramp to the right a half mile, then back on and continue north. About twenty miles before the exit, the system wanted to route me off the freeway onto a state hiway, west a ways and then wind back via the scenic route to the freeway about 18 miles later. No particular reason. Figured I must like to gaze at the farmlands.
Same trip, upon leaving the shipper in Murfreesboro and getting back on I-24 northbound (remember, I'm heading to Nashville), it was trying to route me off the freeway at the next exit and turn me around and head south on I-24. Every time I passed the exit, it rerouted me at the next one to do the same. Finally, after about 15 miles, it evened out and kept me north bound to the 65 as I planned.
It had shown me having arrived at my shipper and I selected, 'go to next stop' or whatever it says. I even tried opening up my multi stop route, deleting the last stop and selected 'start trip'.
One more thing I noticed, is if I choose to ignore a route it selects for me, it constantly tries to turn me around, often on dirt roads, cow paths and narrow lanes a bicycle would have trouble with. A couple of these routes were old roads that looked like they had been abandoned at least 30 years ago.
Any input from anyone would be appreciated.
I'm beginning to lose faith in this thing.

Don't feel bad, you're not alone in this mystery. While I have yet to locate a Drivers position since getting out of school, and since I bought the TND 700, I had a little extra time this past weekend & the Mrs wanted to just get out and ride around. So, I figured, what the heck. Since we have a Garmin Nuvi 265w already in the car, why not take the 700 out for a test run. And after this test run, I've got to admit, I'm seriously rethinking about keeping it.

We took this thing on a 230mile sight seeing tour, spanning over 6 couties, & 4 major hwys in NC. More times than I could count, the 700 would want to also route so far out of the way, it was just unreal.

(The settings: Truck > Route "fastest", >tollways & freeways "Allow", > U-turns & ferries "Allow")

One trip in paticular just drove this thing totally bonkers and for a while I thought it would have a mental break down, lol. We were beginning this leg of our trip in Hickory, NC at 2365 Springs Roads NE and I routed it to a residential area in another city that I knew had truck restrictions, as well as along that route, there were a couple of bridge restrictions.

We began our trip heading south to 24th St. SE and turned right. Ok, this was right, and anyone who drove a truck in this area would know that in order to get to the destination, there would only be a total of 4 turns. We get about a mile & the 700 starts trying to route us onto just about every street we came to that was on our left, wanting to take us two towns over, to the interstate, and then come back up a major highway (US 321 Business to NC HWY 10) The garmin however, had it pegged on the money. It routed us on 24th St NE and to stay straight to cross over onto Startown Hwy (which is a designated HWY for Trucks as there are several local trucking fimrs on or off that road).

After Crossing over onto Startown HWY, the rand was constantly telling us to turn onto small dead end streets, many of which, like you said, a bicycle would have a hard time, and at one point, trying to route us onto a non-existant street. There was one time I saw where it was stating that we could connect to another road (4 miles away) via a stree it claimed, however, there had never been a street there nor on ever planned in all of the 45 years I've lived in this area. :biggrin_2555: It has always been farm land with woods so thick, it would be a loggers dream. Anyway, it kept going on like this until we got to the midway point of this road which is Settlemyer Bridge Road, which at this point it matched up with the garmin for the rest of the trip. At one leg of this trip, it stated that there was A Subway shop at 2443 Startown Road, Yeah RIGHT!! :biggrin_25510: There has never been ANY restuants on this road nor will there ever be any planed, especially if the local farmers have anything to say about it.

Well, we get up to HWY 10 and make our Left turn, heading to Sigmond Dairy road in which we would be making a right, & this was ok as use to be a Huge Dairy way down this road, years ago. Well, we get about 900 feet up this road to my our veer to the right onto Shady Lane and the 700 "SHOULD HAVE" began Barking :biggrin_25516: at us telling us that we were on a restricted road & to be turning around. (There has never been a truck permitted on ANY of these roads in this small community, due to the many small children and the fact, the curch in this area pretty much controls everything. There is only one outlet to this community, and we were now driving on it with signs posted "NO TRUCKS, RESTRICTED" Local Delivery Only By Permit ONLY.

On another trip, (Going through Down Town Newton to Conover NC) while NC 16 is THE MAIN ARTERY that connects these two towns, the TND 700 kept wanting to rout us off on various side streets that have always been truck restricted. (UPS & FEDX have a hard time getting permission going on some of these without getting a ticket, even though they are delivering on them).

On another trip, from Asheville, NC to Statesville NC using I-40. (Going from one Wal-Mart to another) there were many times it wanted to bounce us off I-40 over to NC HWY 70 for a couple of miles & then back on I-40. The garmin however, pegged it again.:biggrin_25513:

I'll be doing a few more test runs with this thing & if it can't get it's act strait, I'll either return or sell this one & buy me another Garmin for $165. :biggrin_25511:
