I will be voluntarily throwing my ### into the driving mill this weekend. I have read allot of posts on the subject, most helpful, many discouraging. I am a firm believer in "you make your own destiny". It seems, the most negative posters Need to take some accountability that this was not the business for them.
My goals are to drive regional for a few years. Then I would like to haul fuel local.
My background is drywall and metal studs. I have been employed for 12 years in the trade never laid off, until last few years. I have quit a few times to go to other companies. It was back breaking work, and like driving, not for everyone.
I once believed, hard work reaped good pay and job security. after the last few years with the economy I found out it's who you know.
beginning a new life

now my friend your going to hear a lot of woe is me from drivers but in reality you have to decide for your selfif this is the way you want to go as for me i would not even think about doing anything else and i don't have all the problems you hear about from other drivers the driver makes the business the business does not make the driver it is what you put into it .
it's a lot of lonly times on the road, a lot of hard work and a lot of miner problems but nothing you can't hande , a lot of time spent away from home you can't be home every week but it is a good business to be in if you can handel being away from home a lot .
you can do it and be succesfull if you stick with it and im sure you can, you never lose till you quit .
good luck to you my friend and enjoy the adventure. southernpride
