I did very well with Mercer from 2001 to 2006...I switched from a flatbed to a van in early '07...THAT was not a good move financially.

rbht said: ↑I have never seen rates like that in the northeast, especially on lumber. If you are getting those kinds of rates, great. You are in the minority of people who can get decent rates at all in the northeast. I can tell you I netted more than your $53700 last year. I wasn't home every night but I do make sure I get good home time. I also took 4 weeks off last year. I did run more miles than you but then again you only average 300 miles a day. Not everyone has the ability to get in on a good regional/local haul like you.grizzly said: ↑I usually dont do this but i will through my numbers out so you can see last year i ran 68,000 miles home every night and weelend plus 4 weeks off i grossed $135,000 or $1.99 all miles loaded and empty for the truck i drive and i neted around $.79 a mile and i rarely work longer than a 12 hour day i do not fault you for being leased on all i'am saying is if you have some of your own direct shippers and run smart you can do better on your own. This is all flatbed 95% lumber loads..Click to expand...Click to expand...

The rates are there in the northeast you just have to have the right connection of shippers and stay away from the brokers that will cut the rate in half because they know some one will take it just to get out of the northeast. Like i said before not trying to dought what anybody says but 95% of the leased o/o i talk to say they dont make the numbers people say they make being leased on. Most say they make around $1.35 to $1.50 all miles some lower.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned MCT (Midwest Coast Transport). They are just like Landstar. I have heard some good things about them. They have a decent website in which you can comb through if interested. Panther is like Landstar too, but it is expedite. I looked into them once and they had some good stuff to offer. Good luck.

A friend of mine was telling me today that his neighbor that is an independent O/O says he thinks LS will be boobs up within 6 months.
There are a lot of LS haters out there and I've heard a lot of hatin on them.
But thats a new one for me. -
This is correct. But not repoed. Just bankruptcy. And it was put onto my credit report.phroziac said: ↑So from reading in between the lines here, someone with the same name as you bought a boat and it got repoed? That could very well be the problem. DAC doesnt check SSN numbers either.Click to expand...
No, I have not seen my DAC, nor do I know how to see it. How do I go about viewing it?Old Man said: ↑Have you seen your DAC, no telling what a former employer put on there. Little people with too much power are able to put whatever they feel like on your DAC, you need to check.Click to expand...
And btw, in viewing my credit reports, one of them has a different phone number than mine, and EVEN a different social security number, which I just don't understand how that can happen. So now I am working to get those two things removed as well. These credit agencies are the dumbest bunch of ##....well you know. -

There is a reason for that
