SaY WhaT?!

You ain't .................... ? Oh,
Ahhhhh --- you almost had me fooled thar for a minute, SmallH.
Good one.
Let me put my towel and soap-on-a-rope back in my duffel bag, --- back in a sec.
There, that's done.
It's been awhile.
How ya been?
Whuzzup?
I didn't know it was down.
Are you surprised?
I bet some folks are surprised you didn't use the word from instead of "with" (England). I think as long as you're happy and content, it's all good.Exactly how "close" to the 1 year mark are you?Considering the amount of experience you have, IMO, you've made the right choice by choosing not to train.A lot of us have read the same things posted here, and other places.
Didn't you have to go through all that yourself?
What do you think about the training program?"Money maker"?
Is being a trainer all about the money now-a-daze?
I hear trainers are even allowed to sleep on the job while the trainees pretty much train themselves. How can "training" like that not be easy?
What's not easy is a trainer bein' awake and alert at all times WHILE training a trainee.
I ain't real good with numbers, SmallH.
Would you mind explainin' what appears to be a tad lackin' in the (Net) department?
Thanx in advance.

Well I would prefer the mountains in West Texas, cause it's pretty flat where you're going. You're highpoint will be the everlasting elevated freeway on I-10 as you go into Louisianna. Ho Hum until you get to Pensacola and stay away from the Dairy Queen east of Mobile on the 10 unless you're desperate for food, Good Luck.

Where do you get the CDL handbook to study?
-
You should be able to obtain the CDL handbook at the D.M.V.
They cost $65.98 each
or two for $130.00,

and you can make payments with low interest rates until the balance is paid.
Jest keedin' ya. :smt047
:smt046
The booklets should be no charge.:smt037
(I'd say "free", but they aren't really free.
They're paid for by John and Jane Q. Taxpayer.)

It's twue!
It's twue!
lupe and Kimono_skunk Thank this. -
I'm guessing it would be good to go to CRE to get your free training with contract and then when they want you to lease or team up change to another company like Watkins Shepard or something?
I applied to Watkins Shepard too but they aren't contacting me. -
That's one guess, Lupe. You have two more guesses remaining.
Hint: the best guess you can make about goin' to C.R. England is tryin' to guess what it might have been like if you had gone there and applied for a job, and got hired, which IMO, would be more like a nightmare that you can't seem to wake up from by guessing.
How many of the threads concerning CRE have you read so far? If you're considering CRE, my guess is that you either haven't read enough of them, or you weren't payim' enough attention to what a vast majority of those who are in the know are tryin' to get you to realize, which is that it's best to avoid C.R. England all together. Don't just walk away either.
RuN away.
Fast.
And don't look back.
Ultimately though, it's your decision to make as to whether you go with CRE. My hope is that you fully understand that the odds of succeeding aren't in your favor.
Is there a remote possibility that you'll be an exception and actually succeed where so many before you were kicked to the curb ---- rejected, ......... probably with a dinged DAC report which will make them unattractive enough to other Big truck truckin' companies that they won't even consider hiring them.
Too often a beginning at CRE becomes the end, before a career even gets off the ground. Suffice to say that CRE does not care and is not concerned about what happens to you. To them, you're just cheap labor and expendable. They seem to figure that there are plenty more just like you out there, coming through the revolving door, unaware of what they're about to find out the hard way.
Have you tried contacting them?
How many other truckin' companies have you sent applications to so far?
Have you considered running an ad in a newspaper in the WORK WANTED section?
Remember, seeking employment IS a job in and of itself. It's not easy work either. But what you invest in time and effort pays dividends in the end. It's your future on the line here. How important to you is investing in that future?
Also, keep in mind that if it takes too long to find a drivin' job, your CDL-A will become stale, -- requiring, at least, a refresher course before a truckin' company will consider you for employment.
Time is tick, tick, ticking ------------

I applied to CR England and Watkins Shepard because those were tho two companies that I knew provided schooling and accepted 21 yr olds.
I just called Watkins and they said they had better qualified applicants.
Could somebody else confirm or disconfirm this? In other words is it true that if you go to CR England they'll give you bad report so that you won't be able to get into another company?
CR England called me today saying I'm accepted and I could come as early as next Monday. I think I'll just stay with them a year because this is the best I can get and then move on to better companies or local?
