Nine days. Smokr, I bet you could not wait to get off that yard. Hopefully you are now getting plenty of miles.

I am here at a truck stop in San Antonio patiently waiting for my delivery at 0700 tomorrow morning. Once I left the Tampa area I stayed the night in Robertsdale, AL and last night in Houston, TX.

Outside of the issue with the tire this has been a quiet run. The QualCom has not had any message traffic other than my daily check calls. This afternoon I did ask my DM for a pre-plan out of here, however, he has not come back with anything yet.

For lunch today I ate at Mikeska's BBQ in Columbia, TX. Plenty of truck parking, however, I would not eat there again. The food was a bit expensive and was not all that great.

Well, I'm off to Canadia again. Delivered in Atlanta this morning, picked up in Murfreesboro this afternoon and sitting in Kentucky tonight.
Can you get jet lag by driving?
Deliver Wednesday, so I won't be letting any grass grow under my feet.
Gabby has been wearing me down lately. Promised I'd stop in and sit down with her next month when I'm in the yard.
    She IS persistant!
Maybe she should go into sales...
Anybody out there come up with a solution for the new trailers' inside height and making the load locks fit? I have a new trailer on this load and other than a block of wood, I can't figure out how to 'stretch' the load locks.
And I know this is a shot in the dark, but what the heck... anyone familiar with the J in London, ON? The Canada truck stops can be a real treat if you get there after 1700, and they all seem to be pretty tight. I'm thinking of trying the J, but hesitate. Any feedback would be appreciated. Otherwise, I may just stay in Detroit and head out early.

I made my delivery this morning in San Antonio with no problems. Forty five minutes after sending in the empty message I was given a load assignment. I am now in Laredo waiting to load. This cold storage place is notoriously slow at loading so I could be here a while.

If you are going to Texas to license thru Stevens school, you will need to start from scratch. This includes a new permit, then your license.
After you complete your license and go on to training with Stevens, you will need to transfer your license to CA. It's not difficult. You simply take a vision test and trade license. I'm not sure what they charge, but that cost will be yours.
Stevens gives you 90 days to change your license over to your home state, however, they will be lenient on that if you're busy training or out on the road.

Anybody know what the cutoff is for Blood Pressure during the physical? Just chked mine and it running around 150-160 over 80-90 will that disqualify me? I'm not a doctor so I really don't know what is good or bad. I leave this Saturday for Dallas and don't want to get out there and get kicked out right off the bat. Also the lady who I've been talking to last cpl weeks says she already ran my background check and everything is alright, but from what I read on the forums here it sounds like they don't get the background checks back till after the students are already there, hense why a lot get dropped due to the chks?? Is she lying to me? Not that a recruiter would lie or anything like that:biggrin_25524: Any input would be appreciated.

Stevens has BP numbers just slightly below FMCSA standards. I think the max you can have is 139/89. If you're at 150 or 160 you better see a doctor! You have more problems than worrying about Stevens!
You can be on medication with Stevens and not have a problem. Lots of us take BP medication at the company. They just require you to come in every 90 days and have it checked to make sure you're taking your medication.
As for background checks, if she said she ran your check and you passed, then you passed. What troubles some people is they fail to report certain items and that trips them up. Those items are commonly found thru 'harmless' conversations with people at Stevens. Or the DMV report you provided ahead of time doesn't match what they get back from your state. If you've revealed everything, then you should be fine.
I'd get that BP looked into before you go, tho.
