So looking at their website it looks like they push the lease program on drivers. Do you new drivers to the company get a lot of push towards leasing. I'm not one to lease, not that responsible to be a business owner but woudn't mind driving as a company driver.

They push, but that is about it. They will not force you into a lease.
Leasing from them is a loosing idea anyway. A few get lucky and can make a little more a year than a company driver. Most do not. -
so are they useing 387pet and the w900 as company trucks now

Central has been advertising on one of my local papers for over a year but their ad has changed recently. Says they are training students to do regional runs and advertising their new teams pay (48 cpm). Just wondering if this is "recruiting hype" or are they really offering students regional runs?
-
They always tell me "we are not a regional company" so I would imagine thats all just hype.
As for $.48cpm for teams, thats news to me, last I knew they were paying $.31cpm split ($.155cpm/driver) for new teams.
On another note, they moved most of the '08 T2000s and some of the '09 W900s to company. As far as I know the 387s are still exclusively lease trucks.jasper_truck86 Thanks this. -
Thanks JW40, I kinda figured that. I've been wanting to go to school for over a year now and I'm just playing the wait & see game. I am doing a temp job right now so as soon as it runs out or tax time gets here, I'll be headed to school myself. -
I was thinking about it earlier and there is a Southeast regional MillerCoors dedicated fleet but I believe you have to lease to get on it, a few of my friends are on it, one just got off because he couldn't get the miles. Let me tell you though, most of those dedicated fleets (Kraft, MillerCoors, Walmart, etc.) are tough to get on.

I bet it is tough! Does anyone know if Central deducts $ from newbies for an escrow account if you abandon your truck? If so, how much & for how long? Also, does anyone know what they deduct for lock & kingpin & loadlocks & for how long? Thanks in advance & be safe!

Kraft and the fish fleet both hire out of the GA area some though. Fish fleet is a pain, allot of stops and in small areas of City's. But they get allot of stop pay and make decent money.
Kraft use to pay .40 cpm, but I heard at one point last year that they lowered the pay for the fleet. So I am not sure what it is now. The dedicated fleets are hard to get on and even harder to stay on. They have a 1 strike policy. If you are late 1 time you are gone.
They also have a few local positions in some areas that are dedicated. They do not have many of them though, and they pay salary not mileage.jasper_truck86 Thanks this. -
I use to be on the fish fleet and loved it. But just like everything else it had it's ups and downs.
