Well I flew out to Lacrosse, Wi. to start orientation. They sent Criag down to pick me up and head to Black River Falls. Turns out only me and a rehire doing orientation. Went for physical and drug screen that afternoon and got that out of way. First thing Tueday went out with Mike Millis for the road test. I have read he can be a hard nose, but I found him to be the opposite. The came the FUN part , talking with all the office people and doing the paperwork. They told us Wednesday morning we pick our trucks and if the drug test came back we could be out that afternoon. Finished all the fun stuff, then met the fleet manager. Went out picked a truck, T600 that looks pretty good. 7056 is the number. Went out for lunch and then came the news, we were cleared for take off. Went and got truck set up and in to see where I was off to. Was told I had a 2 pick up load and 2 stop load out of Wisconsin Rapids ,Wi. heading me to Bedford,Pa. and Hazelton,Pa. for Friday. Got that off then home for the weekend. All went very well and I thoght the people I met ther were all down to earth real people not trying to feed you a bunch of crap like some other companies do. Most all of the people there have 10 - 15 or more years with the company. Now it is time to get down to business, Monday morning that is. I think this was a good choice for me. Time will tell. Until next time. HAPPY TRAILS.

Dude- I parked right next to you. Looked everywhere for you but couldnt find you. Went down to the ice cream place and when I got back "Poof" you were gone.

I was there getting my inverter installed. Shop was awesome. Found a couple other things that needed to be repaired and did an great job getting me rolling again!

I'll hunt you down soon I am sure!

WOW - what a week or two it's been.

Running hard - was running small loads for a while (400 to 500 or so miles each) then did the Buffalo to Atlanta load then picked up in Cartersville with a 3 stop load. First stop in Peru IL and then two in WI. Then grabbed a short run from Waukauna WI to Black River Falls. Met another Millis driver while waiting to load - great guy and since we were delayed 3 hours since their system was down was able to share and gain so great tips. We both had the same loads and ran them to Black River Falls.

While in Black River I got my inverter installed (YAY) not to mention some new brake chambers and a new mirror. Too bad the microwave I had with me is 5 years old and maxes out the inverter so will have to hit up WalMart and get a smaller/newer one. The B.R shop is awesome. Was also able get some laundry down and met Dan Millis to top it off.

Grabbed a load from Black River going to Meridan CT and made that deliver on time. Then got a load from CT to Kingston Springs TN for a Monday Deliver. Picked this load up about 1pm on Friday. Thought - cool can run a good while Friday - get ahead of schedule and run by the house and make the delivery on Monday morning......NOPE! Hit a 3 hr back up on 95 South before the GW Bridge.

After sitting for 2 hrs I kept hearing short ways around the back up and kept thinking I should try that and get rolling if I can. WHAT A DUMB ### I AM! I tried the "get around" and ended up going right through the Bronx. Not to mention I was scared to death that I would get hit or hit something - It was like driving in the Phillipines all over again. I mean #### - why would you even attempt that.

Well - I made it through no scratches or no one injured. Learned a very valuable lesson along the way. But did get some great pics of Yankee Stadium and a few other "choice" Bronx sites. But the moral to this story is this............STAY ON THE PATH SET FOR YOU!

After finalling getting through the Bronx and getting across the GW Bridge - thought things would be better - NOPE. Hit dead stop traffic around Newark - all the bypasses were clogged also - then hit it again in the southern part of Jersey - I had had enough and burned up all my time so stopped in Bloomsburg NJ for the night.

This morning got up early and ran about 580 miles to exit 36 on 81 and parked for the night. Only have about 280 miles for tomorrow and dont deliver until 9am on Monday.

Great lessons learned - met another great Millis employee and got a microwave that I cant use. But still loving every minute of it.

Sure beats the stress of "Corporate America" anyday!

Oh yea - "The Turtle" got some bling bling this week also.

i thought that was your truck i was in the shower which is why you couldn't find me. i walked around and looked for you for a little bit but the electronic log was ticking away and i had another load to pick up in eau claire already. next time you come down i 95 that time of day just jump on i 287 and take that to 78 to 81 and it will be alot quicker than sitting in traffic over there.
