I was until 2 weeks ago. The only reason I left is because we relocated and I didn't live close enough to a terminal anymore but i was getting burned out on it anyway and had been looking for something else for a while. I was treated well and made good money but it was just time for me to move on.

I am still with DOT Foods. I am out of the Liverpool office. Awesome company to work for. Follow the rules and you will be fine. Great home time 2 to 3 days a week home and still make great money.
okiejon Thanks this. -
Hi there OuterSpaceHillBilly, I am looking to become a Dot Foods driver, can you email me at Remrie@Yahoo.com ? I'd like to get some input from you. I've been reading all your posts on the company you've been sharing with others. Thank you for offering so much help. Even posts from a year ago or more still help people today!

Hey outerspacehillbilly! I just had a quick question about DOT as far as unloading goes. Could you explain it a little please? Are you unloading case by case or pulling off pallets or what? Just curious. Is that what was burning you out?
I'm just trying to get a better picture of what it's like at DOT. Thanks. Hope all is going well for you. -
The unloading is not bad if you don't mind physical work. Most places you go you back in the dock and most will let you use their electric pallet jacks to pull the pallets off. Then you break down the pallets which could contain 1 to 20 different items per skid into their own seperate skids. Sometimes you have to use manual pallet jacks and tailgate the product at places that don't have docks( not often though).
I was getting burned out with some other things not the unloading. I actually kind of miss it because it was a good physical workout. -
TexomaYankee--love your avatar! We're on the OK side of the lake. Hubby is looking into getting his cdl so he can drive for Dot. He's been working in the dc for almost a year now and loves the company.

Lumping is the worst... Glad you guys like it. Sure it's a job, and sure it's money, but lumping is the worst!! I love the pallet jack world I live in. LTL yeehaw!
