UPDATE 8/14/10
Everything is going great here with May. They have been running me hard, the last three trips have been over 1000 miles. I have yet to sit and wait for a dispatch, usually before I drop a trailer I already have a pre plan on me. No complaints here, if you are thinking about driving, this is a good company. I have talked to some drivers from other Enrtry Level companies and havent heard the same. One thing that is true is alot depends on your attitude. Good luck and drive safe.NorthWest Wonder Thanks this. -
right on, thanks for the update jml2007, got another couple weeks and i'll be calling Opel for my orientation date. hope to see you all out there. take care and drive safe!

I am currently at SWTDT; I was wondering, what kind of pay do you get with May, starting out while training, and then when you're done with training, what is the pay per mile? And how often does it go up (i.e. after 6 months, etc.)?
Glad to hear you're doing alright; I am also thinking about putting in my pre-hire application with this company. Any other useful information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -
Well, now I am chasing Leona. I'll be at the DMV next week getting my final test.
I'm ready to go after that. Hopefully it's over to May.
That's my plan ... -
orientation pay is $350/week i believe.
Starting pay after training is .30cpm, then .31cpm after 6months, then .32cpm after 12 months. you can check out MAYs website at maytrucking (dot) com
Which SWTDT are you at? Vegas? PHX? or Tucson? -
Good choice man, hope to see you out there.
-
It is just like Northwest said, it is basically $50 a day for training. -
It's nutty at school now as we all try to determine our next move. You could pass out T-Shirts. There is a whole group of Werner guys, some local bulk hauler guys (the local bulk hauler hires recent ex-cons), a small tribe of SNI guys and then there is me ... the lone May hold out.
I think I'm the smartest of them all.
