I am reading all these horror stories about the various Mega carriers, and turn over rates from 140 to 200%

I guess I am not understanding how you can maintain a customer base with the back of the house in such chaos.

Corporations are driven by profit, and nothing more. So somewhere on a sheet of paper this "mill" concept must be more profitable, then say, setting the industry standard for what they pay their drivers. Like base bay for recent grads is .45 cents a mile , and have it go up from there. Would you even need a recruiting program?

But back to the original question. They must be good at moving things from A to B, or they would have no customers. :smt102

Its called insurance, customer is paid on both sides for one for losing their shipment, and any repercussions that may be felt by the receiver for the loss. Its the all about the $ not really the safety.

Make the shipper/receiver more liable for shipment times and so on then that would all change.

Far as pay goes there is absolutely no reason companies should not be paying every driver a min of .50 a miles, do to the fact trucking companies are labor exempt. It again is all about the $ and how many times the owners and executives can hit the golf coarse.

Thanks TJ, but I guess I am still not understanding.

    The carrier insures the load?

I guess I am not seeing where the accountability is.

I get bad service from anyone, on anything a couple of times, and I am shopping the competitor.

Sorry I didn't get back to you on this post, guess I past right over it.. Yes large companies insure themselves up to a certain dollar point then buy insurance for law suits beyond that.. I think SNI was somewhere up-to 5 million per case or something like that...

Turbo alway has great articals.. glad you understand now..
