JBS is Owned by a Family out of Brazil, they are huge in the Beef and Pork Industry in Brazil, most of South America, and Australia. In the US they are the Largest Feedlot, and Slaughter House Owner, for Both pork and beef, they now own Pilgrims Pride and Are acquiring Smithfield Meats. Big Company with plenty of money, They Hire from all 48 with no problems, RIDERS must be 10 years old, they want people with experience, But ask about the Trainer program. And if you put my name on your Application when you apply We will meet up and dinner is on me.

My Hubby just left there. He was there for 2 years. It wasnt a bad job...but he hated fighting to come home. He was always "pulling one for the team". Detention pay was hit or miss....keep an eye on your paychecks.. The payroll lady is really sweet.... Hubby left b/c he just wanted more hometime w/ our Children and myself. Also....try to stay away from the yard...if you get there on a friday...more than likely you are sitting til monday at least waiting on a load. Company has come a long way in the last two years....Hopefully it gets even better in the future. They tried to get him to stay on...but it just wasnt worth it anymore. Getting paid 1800 for 2 weeks..then next paycheck 600...we couldnt budget on it.. Good Luck with the job. If you have family hopefully they dont mind you being out for 30 days at a time..and only home for 4 days a month...My hubby is no wimp...served in Iraq for 2 years...but just wanted to be home more..and found a company where he will make a steady income and be home each weekend!! JBS is great for those who want to be away..BENEFITS are AWESOME! Hubby always received the Safety bonus's and vaca and holiday pay was nice!! Holiday Pay was just added w/in the last year...Oh..and if you get stuck in the yard b/c they send you there for repairs...fight for your layover pay....They dont like to pay you for it...but it can be done!

Truckers Wife, I started this Thread Because you had already Voiced your Views from your Husbands Perspective, This is Titled MY Adventures at JBS.

I respect that your Husband spent two years in the Sand Box, actually I am very thankful to him and all the Veterans, but this Thread was not meant to be a Complaint Thread by any means, so respectfully refrain from that, there is a Section for that and it is not on a Thread I start thank you very Much.

He might not be interested, however as a "wannabe" he hasn't done this. I'm interested and I hope you keep posting. I'm considering JBS and want all useful info.

Wow....dont be hateful!!! I was just posting on our experience. I am not saying JBS is a bad company...all companies have their good and bad. All I was saying was that having him getting stuck in the yard for days on end wasnt very good on the paycheck. Also made the point that he left b/c he wanted to be home more. He didnt leave JBS w any ill feelings toward them. But...we have an Autistic child and we needed him home more often....I hope you enjoy your experience with them.....and RCLSR1961, like I posted ..its all in what you and your family want out of a job. If being home isnt important....then JBS is great....

Hey Doc - Have YOU never hijacked a thread? Well, maybe not, but the fact is that it happens. Rather than getting bent out of shape, just gently re-hijack it back to where you want it.

Big Don and any1 else that feels like Doc is getting bent out of shape from TruckersWife's post are you freaking kidding me? Doc didn't send any personal attacks her way nor disrespect her in his post. He asked in very respectful way for her to just not post on here due to the fact he wants to talk about his experience with JBS. Why should his thread be crapped on because of someone else's experience of JBS just because it was different. We all see things different here in this world and perhaps just perhaps Doc will have a different and better time with JBS vs what TruckersWife's hubby experienced. I dont see anything wrong with Doc's post jusy my $0.02 but I do believe this is the positive section so why post negative crap. It just confuses the heck out of rookies like myself who are trying to get the skinny on the many many companies out here..Leave the negative in the Negative Section and the Positive in the Positive. Its not THAT hard to do!

Nothin' wrong with Doc's post. However... this is the "TruckersReport." No such thing as a "good" post on this forum that won't be trashed by (just saying this in general...) someone with a "not-so-good" experience, or poster with a good experience who won't eventually be labeled a "cheerleader."
