Oh, I wasn't responding to anyone else's aviation post. Guess I didn't notice it. There are very strict HOS requirements for commercial pilots, though not for us private types.
Also, the highly publicized aviation accident photos are a vanishingly small percentage of accidents fatal or non, and are usually more apt to show up in the media for novelty reasons. It still stands that most of us (all of whom are required to carry medical cards) travel over unpopulated areas most of the time, in very light vehicles.
The FAA has made a small nod in the LSA rule, which allows the pilots of lighter-than-average airplanes with limits on seating and speed to use their driver's license AS a medical card.
Lets try and make a change
