I have the same retirement but you should always look for the best. Think outside the box and do things different than the rest. That kind of thinking got me a job where I was making $1650 a week until I retired again. Of course you'll need experience but with your pension you're not in a bind like most. That luxury affords you the time to be picky.

Bottom line is how well you get along or how much you are liked by the person who decides who gets which load and why.If you have two drivers and two loads one of those loads is better in pay, difficulty or any other different varibles. Some guys always seem to get the good load and some don't.

that is still more than what most entry level office workers make.
500/wk is 2k/month. most entry office jobs start at 10/hr (took me 3.5 yrs to get to 14.35/hr only to be fired for a retarded reason. note: i hated my office job), and they work about 160 hours a month = 1600/month.
I am thinking when i'm a bit older and pulling in some nice checks ill start doing some trucking....maybe around 50 yr old. -
I'm finding those sorts of jobs are not worth my time because I seem to have trouble keeping them for whatever random reason. So I chose to go into trucking now at age 23 as a part of a much larger plan to be financially free by age 30 so I can move on to build businesses.

awh! It is nice to have dreams isn't it? The only thing you can plan in trucking is how your getting from A to B that day. Too many other things come into play after that
