Swift vs pepsi

If they offered you a dollar tree account, then take the pepsi thing. Same basic type of work, but better all around to go with pepsi.

 

I'd go with Pepsi. If your working for the corp and not a local bottler, you'll have great benifits, and a better chance to move up the ladder.
It's a great job to stay in shape with, picking up cases of soda all day long.
The big plus, your home every nite, and off most weekends.
Swift, out on the road for up to 30 days, low pay, slow trucks, sitting for 11 hrs a day going down the road, dealing with dispatchers who have no clue to thier job.
And being the brunt of jokes from the east coast to the west coast.

 

Your going to have a hard time being anywhere around $15.40 an hour with swift. Most OTR drivers are well under $15.00 an hour if you add in OT after 8 or 40.

 

My wife told me she thinks I should get a job otr this was two years ago we got in to the bigest fight ever!!!! stay local if ya can take the pepsi job in the future if you want to go otr then you will have experience and you will be able to hire on with a good payin otr company Drive safe !

 

Isn't the pepsi gig in a class B truck? If it is then it will not count towards class a exp.

 

If the pay is better go with Pepsi

 

I'd go with Pepsi. Trust me, the benefits are better and you are home with your family every night. People would kill for this position.

I think pepsi sounds like a way better deal, but i guess it depends. Pepsi just seems a step up from swift.

 

I have done both. I quit working for a 7up dist to work for
Central Refer.... i did side loader, bulk delivery( supermarkets, etc) and the vending route run.
Thought i could make more money doing the OTR thing.
Plus i listened to the recruiters about the "great" money to be made...RECRUITERS NEVER LIE !!!!---RIGHT !!!!!
I agree with the majority here and say GO WITH PEPSI...
More room to move up the ladder with Pepsi....
I believe you will be more happy being home every nite...
Bet the Wife will be happier !!!!!!
