What do I need?

    I'm not sure if this is where I should post, but here goes.
    I just bought a T600, private party. It is in SD. I want to take it home by way of Wy., to MT.
    Basically, will be in 3 states, bobtail- no load, not under dispatch. Will leave SD on a Sunday, in Wy the same day. Head for Mt the following Sunday.
    I assume I will need trip permits. Any thing else? Insurance, what type, etc.?

    The laws are different in each state. It may be best to call the respective DOT offices to ask them. Personally I would only think you will need a temp. driveaway tag, pysical liability, & bobtail ins.

    Thanx for the response REDD.
    I did call SD DOT. They transfered me to port of entry and they said all I would need is a trip permit.

    You will need non-trucking liability insurance at the least.
    That is what bob tail insurance is. The permits change state by state. So you and the others were correct to check with each state.
