Thanks for the report sazook, I hope that is the case. I still worry that something is going to upset my plans.
The signs locally are are not good. The recession is finally reaching the state and local levels here. I'm hoping that this is a delayed reaction to recession #1 and not indications that there is a second recession looming.
The bright side of this is that people will always have to eat. This should keep the refer trucks rolling.Last edited: Aug 20, 2010

My freind that was going through orientation they didnt let him through and sent him home. Not sure the exact reasons something about his employment history. So now I am waiting to hear word about a union job back in Chicago and if I dont get that then I am going to Prime and going company side.

Wow milskired that's a bummer. Hope things work out for you.

O its all good for me. I am not worried about it. I have so many pre hires. Prime is the #1 reefer company I am looking at and I have 2 F/B companies I am also considering. I want to run a team with another good freind that is getting out of the Marine corp in January so I figure if I start driving again in september maybe they will allow me to be his training driver since I have prior OTR exp and use to work for them also.

Shouldn't they have done his employment verification and background check before they brought him into Springfield? They didn't give me an invite to orientation until my current employer sent the verification back. I asked my recruiter if everything was bought off on already and she said "Yep you are good to go". Just assumed they had already checked it all I know she told me she had ran my background check before she called me the first time. I guess that goes back to what you get when you ASSUME lol

You need to be very truthful about everything going through orientation at any trucking company. Yup they do a serious initial screening before they bring you down to Springfield. Those that get that far then get scrutinized even more - something akin to the level that is used in security clearances. There's always the possibility of finding something that will kick you out. Some folks use the "background check got me" ploy to avoid disclosing something more embarassing that came up too... just sayin'.
stlcardsfn Thanks this.
