I was a company driver for 2 years and then became a O/O for the last year. Today I finally had enough and said good bye. A month ago I allowed Roehl to do a PM on my truck. Right after I left I had a coolant leak that was not there before. In Florida I had to install a new coolant filter because thier mechanic in Gary messed up. It cost me $103. I submitted my receipts and asked Roehl to reimburse me.
I waited the past 4 weeks and nothing. Monday I told my DSR I would not haul another Roehl trailer until they put the money in my account. I waited this week and nothing. Was finally told that they would allow me to get $103 worth of work at Gary but no cash reimbursement.
Why the heck would I ever let Roehl touch my truck again? So today I quit because they refused to give me back money they owed me. Today they lost a driver that for 3 years never had a accident or a late delivery.
Well at least my truck now says Schnieder National on the side and I have joined thier choice O/O program. I can honestly say I really tried but the BS just kept getting worse everytime out. All over $103.............![]()
I Quit, Hey Roehl see you later.

Well I hope you do better with schnieder driver. It's sad that companies treat drivers and o/o the way they do, but unfortunately it's becoming the norm in the industry
Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
Everybody makes mistakes, even you once I bet. The $103 credit sounded like a good offer.
If it was just that it seems like a rash decision, but if there was more than that maybe it was more the way they handle things. -
Etch...I know you put a lot of thought into this decision. I know it has taken you at least a year to make this decision. The $103.00 just happened to be the straw-that-broke-the-camels-back. Good thoughts and luck on your new career with Schneider. Smart man who bought his truck from outside the company last year...when you did that you truly took your life and career into your own hands and out of the hands of anyone else.
Take care and keep us informed of your travels.Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
What if he needed something that cost 103 dollars at some other location, like Wal-mart ??
Then the "credit" is worthless.
My money can be spent anywhere on anything. Other money/credit......ozzspeed, Texas-Nana, luvmyhubby and 2 others Thank this. -
A good offer???? WHY would you let anyone who messed up b4 touch your vehicle again? Maybe MORE people need to stand up and say thanks but NO to shoddy service and really bad reimbursement plans.
The offer by the co. was not gonna cost them jack, and that does NOT replace the money from the op's pocket either.mycorky, ozzspeed and Texas-Nana Thank this. -

I sure as heck would not let the jokers in Gary work on my own truck. I avoid that place like the plague in a company truck. I always come out of that place with more wrong than I went in with.
ozzspeed Thanks this. -
I don't know how many times I have had to correct things the "Company Mechanics" had just worked on. I had to show one yesterday how to open my pneumatic trailer up to remove a "Klinker". He didn't know. But at least I have the pleasure of collecting up all the tools they leave on my truck after they are done. I keep them for a week and hand them back after the tool truck has left and they already invested in a replacement.
So here's to the "Gary's" of the world: I you can't install a water filter, quit calling yourself a mechanic.ozzspeed Thanks this. -
Could be worse driver, I do all my maintanence myself, so when something dont get done right I get to be mad at the mechanic and the driver.
