I dislike the place but I have seen worse. Fiven my choice, I would have asked a receiver if it was okay to park there. D Arrigo brothers is not far from there.

My receiver was ~3 blocks away... They didn't have any parking. I did find a street trucks were parking on (john st) that was one exit to the north. Next time I'll park there.

yeah i park at tanimura and antle too, tons of room, no transients wandering around, awesome food in their cafe, and theres also a free scale to use inbound and outbound there as well.

Pilot has now taken over the 49'er in Sacramento.

I think I want to figure out a way to shower in my sleeper and just totally avoid all truck stops.

I've always hated the 49'er. Pilot could only improve the place. If nothing else the parking lot should be free now.

Wow, that's news to me. Must have just happened?

I always avoided that place because of the pay to park. It would be nice not to have to pay to park there and not have to try and squeeze into the Dixon WalMart parking lot up the road. Of course if it is free it will probably be packed 24/7.

The restaurant is decent, the showers are clean, you can get OK to-go food in the store. I've had good luck with the CB shop on site and parking is free for the first 4 hours. I usually take care of my business & move on down the road to a quiet free parking place.

As for pay-to-park, I will say I would gladly pay 10 bucks for quiet, secure parking in a lot of places. I would pay in Castaic, I would pay for someplace convenient to the Bay Area, I would pay to get a spot at Jubitz at midnight. Paying at the 49'er has never made much sense, there are too many other options nearby.

About a year ago I did see the youngest, cutest hooker I've seen in a long time working the lot there.

I think Pilot will screw up more things than they will improve.
