By the way CA does not track by prepass. I would not say they can not, but they do not. I believe thats a Nor-pass trait.

You can always show a hour difference when starting out.

If you start at 10 AM, log it 9 AM,

then if you are speeding, you have some time to spare................

Last time I drove in Oregon they tried to ticket me on time between Ashland and Woodburn, Company Lawyer pointed out to them that it was in their prepass contract that they could not use prepass data for speed enforcement, ticket dismissed.

It doesn't matter how fast your truck is. You have to average about 3 mph under the average speed limit of the highways you travel.

Which in most cases is 62mph unless you are running slower or faster highways.

In a DOT audit, you can get a compressed log violation. And though I never heard of it, our safety guy said you can get a speeding ticket if the math shows you were speeding.

So you were complaining about yourself then?

I agree no need to be "billy big rigger" on the cb but just because you have a fast truck doesn't mean you are one either. I hear just as many or more idiots on there that are the ones running 60 or 62 that's why I rarely talk on mine at all anymore. I'll keep it on quietly in the background just in case but I really have no need for it for the most part. I run the speed limit or within a couple of it, if that's 60 or 75 whatever. I have also seen plenty of the ltl guys do as you described above as well though. Gotta turn and get in front of you on a 2 lane and then run 5 mph under the speed limit because they are milking the clock. It goes both ways.

Personally I could care less how fast anybody drives as long as they are running the speed limit on a 2 lane I'll never complain. Now if they want to run 5 or 10 under on the big road and that's all they can do fine I don't care until they decide to pull out in front of me or a whole line of traffic and then take 15 miles to pass someone from there own company or another that is running 0.000345 mph slower then they are.

I wasnt complaining ... the op posted a question. I gave him an answer. If you run over the speed limit and take breaks while logging it as driving .... you can make your avg speed work out.

Annnnd I was just backing up the answer that I gave him I posted the second time ... because someone made an assumption that I was complaining. Again, I was just posting an ANSWER TO HIS QUESTION
