I Recently had my CDL Expire, Virginia DMV requires you to retake the road test. I contacted this school about using their truck for a fee, granted it is a Student Truck, but the 96 Volvo they took to DMV to drive was not even road worthy, Flat tires, worn out clutch, seat is beyond belief. The trailer has SPLIT Rims on it, and well the tires are needless to say wore out.
I talked with many of the Students there and what a sad situation that is 5k for a bunch of bull.
Two Trainers do the entire course one of Which HAS never been on the road for a company. Graduated from the school and started instructing there right after, he can drive, he can back, but teaching skills leave much to desire. The other instructor who has road experience and is a decent instructor has it down, He needs to work somewhere else. The equipment is beyond disgust and I know Mexicans who would not drive the trucks south of the Border. That speaks tons.

Just got off the phone with the Woman who runs the Community College that this joke of a school runs out of. They have been given 90 days notice that they will no longer be the Contracted Driver training company. This was music to my years, Another Terrifying Trucking School Shut DOWN.

    Hi Guys

i have just been informed that this school is currently under audit and that one of the stadd has been fired due to discrepencies within the finance area. Now i dont know for sure what is going on but i would strongly advise people not to use this company as i have found alot of bad press for them. My fiance was considering erolling with them and thank god i checked out the web b4 he did because i believe from what i have read that this company should be closed down. If any of u know of a reputable school in the VA area (metro tristate) that would be great

    thanks

The truck that Shippers Choice (Chester, VA) uses for the students is a 1995 truck and is a piece of crap, the students have been driving out on the open highway and broke down with this truck. We have had to work on the truck ourselves just to have a truck to drive. They have a "certified mechanic", who does not know what he is doing and attempts to band aide the problems, which only works for a short period of time before the truck is out of commission again. Shippers Choice has 20 or more students a month at $5000.00 a student. There is no reason that they should be allowed to subject students to such low grade and faulty equipment. This is no way to run a training facility.
