Don't worry. Contrary to popular belief, Safety is not there to do you in. They are there to insure you learn how and comply with being a safe driver. There are there to teach you the rules and how to follow them. If they have accepted you and your MVR as is, then you will be fine. The trouble always begins when people try and hide something. Just be open and honest and it should go well.
Keep us posted on your progress. Hope to see you out there on the road some day.

Ok all. I leave for texas this Sunday. I don't think ill have to many issues with the school or the training. I am interested in how often they run loads through Ohio though. I am kinda nervous at this point I have been set to go and have taken pleant of the advise on this board and others on the forum. Another question is do they have many teams? I have a friend that has drove truck for about 9 years and he told me to get all of the training and such and he would sign on and come out and run with me. Well long winded enough thanks in advance for the replies.

They had teams when I was there ... a lot that I met were O/O, but I am sure there were others that teamed on the company side. Good luck. Don't be nervous, listen to your trainers and well ... be a duck (let it roll off your back until you get the hang of it all).
I would actually suggest working solo for a while before teaming. It can get frustrating if your partner can't keep up with you. -
Thanks for the quick reply. I spent 8 years in the Army so im use to just letting it roll off my back. I understand what your talking about with going solo. We get along good now but we don't live with each other. I really looking forward to getting down there and getting this career started.

Started with 12 on monday and we are down to 5 already I believe. The physical did alot of people in particularly with blood pressure.
Tip: MAKE SURE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE AND SUGAR ARE IN ORDER.
It is now 3:30am and im warming up for day 3. They sent everyone down for permits yesterday for those that needed em. I already had mine since I'm out of Texas so I just finished out my general knowledge air brakes combo and pre trip written tests. That puts me 2 weeks ahead of the game. I'm anxious to get on the range to get a feel for the beast.
Off to school for another day. So far the instructors have been pretty laid back for the most part. Just follow the rules, do what they say, and life will be easy for ya. Don't and they will bounce you out of class faster than you can say "oh shat". Workin with Ray and Jay at HCC, great guys in my book.
Best of luck out there. -
Stevens really is not set up for teams, they do have them, and many complain that the miles just are not there for a team. Others who are willing to do relays repowers all the time, enjoy teaming...Most teams at Stevens are Trainer Student, so not an actual Team.
Also Stevens does NOT allow Teams to run 24 hours a day. They require the truck to be stopped so both drivers can rest. One of Stevens many safety rules that go above and beyond FMCSA. -

IDK so far it was inline with DOT (140/90?). I think a couple have been put on hold to give them time to get their BP down with meds and try again.
Day 3 down. Introduction to equipment a quick glance at coupling pre-trips etc. And a day of videos and tests and laughs -
If I remember right, Stevens requires 138/88 or better. Just a hair under FMCSA standards of 140/90.
I had sweat bullets because all the last few years I had my business I was hovering around 135/95 ON meds. Then after selling and 'retiring' I was around 135/88.
When I qualified at Stevens, I tested out at 121/76. Best I'd had in years.
Last time my BP was 112/62.
Driving must agree with me.TLeaHeart Thanks this. -
Good to know. Still under the Stevens' standard at 118/76 but I'm sure that didn't help for alot of people.
