Made it 3/4 the way down the track Saturday night, hot wheel melted, failed and blew the cartridge right out of the exhaust housing. It's hanging by the oil lines! I was lucky the bearings stayed in, no oil leakage, or it would have burnt. Still ran a 15.9 on that run.:biggrin_255:

That Holset HX82 worked well till now, just had it redone before the race, may have been a balance problem ( have to talked to the rebuilder). It would put out 55 psi and spooled well after 1800 rpm. No oil in the air to air, just compressor wheel parts.........

I have seen pieces blow backwards back up into the air filter. Change your air filters and check the pipes for debris. New air to air or are you cleaning it?

Either she goes, or she blows!!!

:biggrin_2555: WOW!!!!!! If it can't take it, it can't stay!

Not near the $$$$ you're facing, but one of the orange hoses leaving the turbo, going to charge air split few days back. After finding problem, Saturday naturally, I stopped by KW dealer for new one. In a hurry to put it on, and continue with load, apparently I did not install it completely on, or maybe the penetrating oil I used for an "install aid" worked too good. After I thought I was finished, jumped back on I-10. Just as boost built up, new hose decided to abandon ship.......Sounded like a gunshot!!! I thought the four wheeler on side of me had shot my truck, apparently he thought the same of me, as we both hit our respective shoulders while standing on the brakes. Got lucky, didn't damage the hose; reinstall, and took off the tie wrap that had boost hose pinched off for good measure. Tomorrow I will pinch that bugger back,....if I still feel lucky.

    Hope yours works out!
