Ryeman, I live a little less than an hour away, so IF I go I will drive everyday and sleep in my own bed.

Also Spanky, or any other driver for Millis, are they forced dispatch?

It's 2 1/2 hour drive for me. From what I have read it's forced dispatched except for Long Island runs.

Not trying to steal your thread by no means.. Just got a question, is it mandatory to attend MTI school for employement at Millis or can you attend any accredited school to obtain your cdl and then possibly get hired on at Millis?? I start school tuesday at a community college here in kentucky and really like what im reading about Millis.. Thanks guys for any feedback. And good luck to all of you heading to Millis soon!! be safe.

i would recommend going to a company training cause they gaurantee a job after u are done training....& from what i been hearing they still make u go through the company training if u dont have any experience.....plus rumor is they a hire a trainer quicker than they would a guy with years of experience because supposedly the company gets sum kinda kickback from the government...but millis is 1of the few companys who i have found that dont ######## u around bout leasing after u are done with training....theres a guy on here "baritone", he has been doing pretty good, he just got out of training at millis....

Just thought of a question. Can you test out early instead of going the full 4-5 weeks? I drove for 3 years in the 90's and I'm certain it will all come back to me fairly quick. I would want to go solo as soon as possible to get past the training pay.

they dont hassel you about leasing a truck because they dont do a lease purchase. they use to let you test out early but now from what i hear you have to do 5 weeks now.

Millis only hires students from their own school. You would have to get some experience if you attend another school.

This Millis thread has been pretty quiet lately. I hope all is ok and doing well.

Maybe some of you drivers that just started within the past couple of months(out of training and running) how about an update on if you still like the company or not? Likes, beefs, miles, pay, etc... I'm still trying to make a decision. Thanks!

Looks like Spanky has answered all your questions pretty well. Let us know how it goes.
