I don't understand why people want to pay thousands to get a CDL! Why don't more people go to the state job service and get their CDL training paid in full and not have to pay it back?. I got mine that way and went to a accredited state college, My schooling was paid my books were paid, my physical was paid, and my license was paid. I owe no one. I guess some folks are just rich!

Day 3 is in the books. It seems Baritone did things a little faster as I spent the first 2 days in the classroom but today we spent close to six hours bobtailing around the yard. Both of us had a truck so most of the day was spent in the seat. I even gotta compliment from a driver in the first couple of hours. Thanks Red, appreciate the vote of confidence. Tomorrow will be a prelim to Friday which will be pre trip and hooking onto a trailer.Skydivedavec and Loken Thank this. -
gonna re-apply for millis in about a week, they told me they would accept me to the school but i had too many tickets...so i been goin back&forth to court & had sum expunged. now all i have on my record is a disregard to traffic signal & failure to signal & maybe 2seat belt tickets. Those tickets I recieved in 2008 & 1 in feb.09. Havent had a ticket since feb.09, my question to yall do u think millis will accept me now. I have no points on my license, im not really tryin2go anywhere else but millis, if not them then central refrigerated but im a give millis a another ring 1st....I already have 3months over the road experience cause i was teaming with my friend( owner operator)& no i dont have my license but I have held a c.d.l. class A permit since the end of 2009 & that made me able to drive with him because he's a owner operator with his license....anyways I want to attend company training so I can have it on my record&recieved my license through them...(make it easier to get hired down the line to get hired by another company)....what do yall think

only thing i can tell you is to give them a call and see what they say

Check your expiration date on your permit. I know in some states, they are only good for 6 months. -

I've been with Millis since 8/4/10 and what I see is there are plenty of miles here for the drivers. One time I waited 15 min. for load after empty, that has been the longest. Usually it is before or as soon as they get my ready message. I have been on Tracey's or Opie's board,as they call him. Had down time on Monday and Tuesday in Cartersville to get truck serviced. With some load juggling I was able to get home for the labor day weekend. My wife said I had better be here for the car show sunday. Due to the weathers bad timeing we've only had the cars to a couple of shows. Weather looks good for sunday and usually about 1000 to 1200 cars at this show. I pick up on Monday in Mountain Top, Pa. to Jamestown,Ny then to Fairborn,Oh. So far I feel I have been treated very well by dispatch. Always pleasant and try their best to get you home when asked. Even service in Cartersville, they put me in the motel cause i couldn't idle truck. This is a nice change from the RAT RACE job I came from. There I got here is a 14 stop load, got to get 9 off today and the rest off tomorrow and treated like DIRT in the process. That was New Century Transportation. I got injured on the job there and needed major shoulder surgery. Was the doctor released me I was kicked to the curb. Nice of them! So that is how I got here. I filled out the on line app. on Sunday and Monday morning I was called. Faye the recruiter asked when I wanted to come out to oreintation. I told her first I should tell you about my shoulder problem. She said that would not be any problem at all. I think it helped that I have 30+ years driving. If things stay on track I plan on spending my last 10 yrs. working here. I would like to see them open a terminal here in Pa. Would be great for me. Anyway that is all for now.
Happy Trails to all from #7056smokies276 and Skydivedavec Thank this.
