I have spent the last 2 months talking to everyone that would listen. I even chased a stevens driver across a Pilot parking lot to ask him what the deal was with Stevens. I have talked to all of the big trucking companies and then compared notes with the drivers for those companies. Out of all of the people and drivers i talked to Stevens by far has the best deal in my opinion. All of the drivers that i talked to have told me they have the best available training for a noob and as far as i can tell most on here feel the same. I m going to take my lumps with them and see how it ends.

Wow, .26 x 2000 miles = a whopping $520/wk.
-150/taxes = 370 - 120/food = 250
So for 7 days, 70/80 hrs. per week you take home $250.
Pathetic.Paddington Thanks this. -
We needed a driver once and I got out the applications. They were all old and out of date. Everyone thought they could never get hired on with us. I'll grant you in most places it takes 5 years of waiting on a list but like I said you never know until you check. I went out to the rack and told this driver we knew to go over to the office and ask. He was a good driver and was driving for us the next week. His pay doubled. It's not only how you look it's where you look too.

So, as a n00b myself, which are the "good" companies to work for after I get 1-2 years experience under my belt?
-
I would think most "noobs" fall in the category I'm in. I don't have a cdl and I can't afford to pay for school locally so I'm left to look at the companies that offer training and go that route. What's a guy to do but suck it up for a year or so to get started.

Oh you can't just ask on here! You have to go out for yourself not even knowing what you should be looking for and FIND them ON YOUR OWN or else it doesn't count!

I'm a noob and I've already grossed 26k and I just started in April and I'm home 2-3 nights a week. When I don't get home I get to put $20 on a company credit card for food. Its nit all bad if you find the right company. Don't listen to the neighsayers.
