1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

What's the most lousy recruiting slogan or add you've seen for a Trucking Job?

    Roehl: "take home more, be home more"

    We'll take home more of your negative check and you'll be home more after our Quallcomm finds a way to fire you.

    Werner: No more paper Logs (they forgot the part about no more money)

    USXpress had an ad in the little magazine for lady truckers on one side and teams on the other. They were going on about their autoshift and saying they were hiring women. The indication was that women would prefer autoshift over standard. I was first amused by it, then a little irritated.

    Who says I can't handle a standard? It's all I've ever driven in a big truck. I thought it was a little presumptuous and patronizing on their part to insinuate I can't handle a standard just because I happen to have indoor plumbing.

    The other ad I find amusing is the one with the truck covered with duct tape. Each time I see that, I'm thinking...now THAT's a real driver there!

    I'm sure there were enough people, male or female, who can't drive and hopped on that bandwagon...

    How about TMC's "Destination Excellence". Hopefully the road to Excellence doesnt have a toll on it otherwise you are going to have to turn in the reciept to get reimbursed.

    Its not really lousy or anything but Celadon used to run an ad apparently for team drivers with two people, one was a woman and the other I could never tell one way or the other. Was it husband or wife or wife and wife? That ad always made me wonder....

    Indoor plumbing....:biggrin_2559::biggrin_25514:
    I actually ran into alady who drove for them and she told me she never drove a standard in her life. I just laughed and walked away thinking how in the world could anyone get a CDL and not know how to drive a standard...:biggrin_25513:

    Just a thought...I wonder if 20-30 years ago people asked the same question when twin sticks were phased out?

    How about the back of those trailers that read "Reflecting Quality" ?
    If you're behind that trailer, it is reflecting YOUR rig!!!!
    Sooooooo, it's saying that YOU'RE rig and YOU are "QUALITY"
    Sooooooo, I say thank you everytime I am behind one of those trailers. :biggrin_25523:
