What is this a pissing contest by former and rookie Swifties? Over what...2500, 3000, or 4000 miles per week!??

Chill out children. There are so many variables in figuring average miles per day, per week, per month...give it a rest already. Besides, most of you...(some might be a better word) haven't even survived one down time season...[mid January through late May]...and those of you who have a year or better should understand that miles will be factored by where you run, what fleet you're on, if your DM is worth his/her poop, and if your fleet is dedicated or not. and there are so many other unknowns in this industry it is actually impossible to get an average based on 1 Quarter, or even 2 Quarters.

Simple math and arithmetic will give you all the answers to a basic bottom line POSSIBILITY!:

A truck governed at 62 will actually average 59.4 across Kansas or Nebraska. The same truck in CA or OR will only legally get 53.6 mph average (and that is with a light load that won't force the dropping of gears over the passes), because none of you have shown figures regarding location, destination and travel through states. Face it...for Swift 500 miles per day is easily achievable, therefore, A Swift governed company truck can get a little less than 3500 miles each week....AS LONG AS EVERYTHING FALLS RIGHT INTO PLACE, EVERY DAY!

As for 4000 miles per week...yes as long as one trips miles are carried over from the previous week, and that pay period gathers all the miles to get the driver over 4000. In a straight 7 day week, a truck governed at 62, averaging 10 hrs each day, could get 4000...is it common(?) NO IT IS NOT! Does it happen(?) YES OCCASIONALLY IT DOES!

Let it go...Texas-Nana WINS THE PISSING CONTEST...NOW, HOW DO YOU GUYS LIKE THAT ONE...A FLUFFY GRANDMA JUST OUT PISSED EVERYONE OF YOU!:biggrin_25523:

Not pissing here just get tired of the flyby jabs at folks for the company they chose. Rarely do I see any of the posts like that backed up with any kind of first hand experience or knowledge.

I am not bitter with Swift...just a couple (maybe 4) individuals there...but my solace is coming soon enough...right now, I try to help any young Swifty and I will stand up to wrongful accusations to or about anyone...no matter what company they drive for.

It's like Nana posted earlier...this playground game of I did, he did, she did, yada yada yada....just gets irksome!

Keep in mind...the bottom line is something to each individual driver and his family (if he/she has one) and what he/she is bringing home. As long as the driver is happy and content at what his CURRENT SITUATION is...then let it be. If that driver wants to improve, or change the surroundings, or nature of the job...then that is up to that particular driver, based on what career choices he/she wishes to make.!:biggrin_2558:
