No we are not broke. People don't wish to pay any more taxes hence the defict and the borrowing that go's with it. Your not going to tell me we should just let our children worry about it are you?

As to the why are we spending: 25% of bridges are functionally obsolete/deficient.
-
If we aren't broke, why do we need to borrow from the Chinese?
And people don't have the option to "wish to pay" taxes.
Jesus, wake up. -
We borrow from the chinese because people people don't wish to pay any higher taxes. (you can read don't want to pay more taxes if it makes you feel better) You can twist it however you want but the fact is: The roads/bridges need fixed and there are two ways to do this. 1) Raise taxes. 2)Borrow. BTW I'm awake.
-
Typical idiotic Liberal thinking.
What about cutting other spending?
What about letting the States worry about their bridges? -
We all want a king's lifestyle on a shoestring budget. Someone take the money plates and printing press away from Barack. Most countries owe us money. It's time to collect!
-
I knew your bashing was coming because you have an agenda. If you cut spending that will work unless it's spending John Q Public wants. States could pay for bridges by: 1) Raising taxes. 2) Borrowing.
-
If you call being against useless expenditures an agenda, then yeah, I have
an agenda.
And you still fail to see the third option available to States,
CUTTING OTHER SPENDING. -
And then there is the fact that some states have dipped into the road funds for other things and not replacing the money.
-
Exactly, but we get to pay for it, no matter if we live there or not.
Maybe if some of the broke States had a few bridges fall down, people would
start to question where the money went.
