While the other half was in training, he said that if anything happened, there's NO WAY he'd ride the hound back home. He said that he'd UPS all his stuff to the house and we'd get him relayed home VIA our motorcycle family we have across the country.

 

Sorry, my assumption was wrong. I thought they used one of those quick care systems. They have their own doctor?

I don't plan on sliding anything past the doctor. I just hope that he agrees with my doctor, that I am fit for the job. I can't help think that something could go wrong. I had heart bypass surgery in 2004. I didn't have a heart attack so there was no damage to my heart, thank goodness. I only take one medication, which slows my heart rate to about 80 and I take blood pressure medication to keep it down. Both of these conditions are caused by smoking and not by a heart condition. So I have a few things that make me worry.

 

He's a good doctor. You should bring as much documentation as possible to orientation on this, and make sure you have phone/FAX numbers to his office/staff in case you need more documentation.

And yeah, we do use a "Doc in a Box" - Concentra. I've gotten my med card there, and random UAs while on the road.

 

Yeah, they do have some things in the works... there are regional deals we have right now, and I suspect its part of the business plan to get more. There are various ways to purchase a truck through Success Leasing Inc.

 

philjo, while I can't yet speak from experience, I can tell you that my recruiter did tell me that Prime does run regional gigs in diff. areas of the country, and when a spot opens up I am welcome to try and get it. I have no idea how it works, I just know that it exsists.

That does bring up a question. The BCBS MO coverage, is it able to cover medical costs in locations around the US? How about seeing my doctor here at home?

 

Just got off phone with recruiter, Prime is all OTR in my area. Said they may have intermodal in the future here. Sooooo, guess the hunt is still on.

As long as he takes BCBS of any kind, it should be all good. Don't have any problem with my doc in Denver...

Thanks for your help. I decided to make an appointment with my heart Dr to get a stress test before I go to Springfield. It may not be needed but I would feel better with recent documentation and have all my bases covered. I don't want to be sent home.
