I've been out of trucking a few months now, but I have a couple I have befriended that are going through school here in Omaha. They want to team eventually, and I am trying to think of good companies to recommend to them. They don't have a pre-placement. Is Schneider taking school graduates now? I know for a while they were not hiring, so I am asking for current information. Any current pumpkin drivers out there with some good advice? As one of the top companies in the industry, I would always recommend Schneider, but am not up to date on their current policies.
Schneider taking trainees?

King...Yes SNI is taking students from their preferred trucking school. Tell your friends to look at schneiderjobs.com and click on student drivers and then follow the links for the schools.
I have been here 2 years(been driving almost 15) and I do have to say I like it here and I get treated pretty good. I currently run team and make good money.johnday Thanks this. -
Yes, they've taken a number of new drivers that have been posting here. Have your buds take a look on here. There's a lot of info. plus a couple guys are giving updates as they go.

Thanks... and to all who have responded. They are already in a school, and not one on the Schneiderjobs list. I suppose all they can do is check it out and see what the Pumpkin Masters have to say.
I have 8 years OTR myself, and never drove for Schneider. They never seemed to be hiring in Nebraska when I was looking! Anyway, I had to come off the road end of May, but sometimes miss the job. Then I wake up! No really, there are days I miss it. But I am always willing to help someone get started right. A couple with no kids who wants to team is probably perfect right now... although I have told them no matter what company they end up will train them separately before putting them out as a team!
I am also introducing them to this site so they can do more research... but there is so much here, and so much of it is... well, "sour grapes" so to speak, that it is good to have someone to guide them through all this! -
Hi les, I run team with my husband also. Our truck number is 56879. We are out of Indy. We too are please with Schneider and also make good money as well. I have to say Schneider keeps us running.

Did you and your husband come to Schneider out of school? Someone with that kind of experience is just what my friends are fixin' to do.

No sorry, hubby had ten years experience before coming to Schneider and I had two. Have your friends talked to a recuiter? They are upfront and helpful yet they do not pressure or hound a person. I hope they make out.
