Schneider taking trainees?

I've been out of trucking a few months now, but I have a couple I have befriended that are going through school here in Omaha. They want to team eventually, and I am trying to think of good companies to recommend to them. They don't have a pre-placement. Is Schneider taking school graduates now? I know for a while they were not hiring, so I am asking for current information. Any current pumpkin drivers out there with some good advice? As one of the top companies in the industry, I would always recommend Schneider, but am not up to date on their current policies.

I have 8 years OTR myself, and never drove for Schneider. They never seemed to be hiring in Nebraska when I was looking! Anyway, I had to come off the road end of May, but sometimes miss the job. Then I wake up! No really, there are days I miss it. But I am always willing to help someone get started right. A couple with no kids who wants to team is probably perfect right now... although I have told them no matter what company they end up will train them separately before putting them out as a team!

I am also introducing them to this site so they can do more research... but there is so much here, and so much of it is... well, "sour grapes" so to speak, that it is good to have someone to guide them through all this!

 

Did you and your husband come to Schneider out of school? Someone with that kind of experience is just what my friends are fixin' to do.
