The use of toll roads used to offset fuel tax - I didn't realize that they changed that.

My company places no restrictions on whether or not to use the Turnpike System here in Florida. We have SunPass, and we just run routes the most efficient and fastest way possible.

To "dodge" a toll would cost extra time and fuel, and there are many times we'll see 1-95 at a dead stop while the Turnpike is moving smoothly. Of course, it can all reverse with an accident on the Pike as well.

If I were still to be an independent, I would heavily weigh the cost vs. time vs. fuel before I ran extra miles around a toll road. I would also factor in the wear and tear on the truck to back road it.
