Not at a scale house in CA, only on the side of the road in AZ, and that was because he said my mud flaps were higher than 6" off the road while moving, never mind I was load with beer for Tucson from Van Nuys.
So no never empty, deadhead or bobtail. -
Exactly... If it was about safety there wouldn't be a money $$$$ fine / ticket , just points on your license.JimDriv3r Thanks this.

I can't speak for all what goes on out there. Heaven knows there are all kinds of stories. However, I learned long ago, if my log is up to date, neat and legible and my paperwork in order. If my truck is clean (reasonably) on the outside and neat and clean on the inside. If my tires are properly inflated, have good tread , my catwalks clear and I'm respectful, I have not had problems.
Yes, I've had my seals broken and loads checked. I've even had officers tell me I should re secure my load inside the box. But I've never had a chickens**t ticket.
My truck is neat, my person is neat and my records in good order. Usually that is all an officer is concerned with.
I have a younger brother that is a Missouri State Patrol Officer. He has told me over and over that it's the attitude of the driver when he first walks up to the door that makes the difference in whether a citation is issued. (as long as it isn't a serious offense that made him stop the vehicle in the first place).
Maybe I'm naive, but it's worked so far...roaddawg92, CivilWerks, stihls68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
What your saying has worked for me for years. If I'm speeding I'll admit it. If you lie, that officer knows your full of ####. Honesty works many times. Your 'tude makes ya or breaks ya.

Yup. You set the whole tone for whatever the interaction with the LEO is about in the first minute. Start with a positive, friendly attitude, and show respect towards the officer, and the whole deal will go better.JimDriv3r Thanks this.

And when he says "Do you know why I pulled you over?" do not say "Because mine is bigger?" that is a no no.
roaddawg92 Thanks this. -
I was referring to stuff in a covered wagon or van not an open flat. Anything on an open flat has to be secured or yes you will get a ticket or atleast should.
If you opened the back of my trailer up and most others who pull covered wagons you will see everything laying on the floor not secured. There is no reason to it isn't going anywhere.
Also my statement was about someone running empty with all the stuff I named just sitting in the trailer. Therfore you aren't loaded so how can it be an unsecure load?dieselbear Thanks this. -
That's okay your entitled to believe what you want and so am I. It's nothing personal anyway.
In that case I am the sexiest, best looking truck driver on this forum and I peed next to old John Holmes and he started crying.

So which one is it? You pretty much contradicted yourself in those 2 posts. Honestly I really don't care either way. -
I worked for a towing company a while back. Right before I started they towed one in with 5 forklifts in it. Well, they weren't in it anymore as the trailer was completely destroyed when they came out the sides.
