I'm a bit late on this, but you guys were talking about medical cards vs long forms. Everybody take your cards out and look at them. If there is a single mistake on it, like where the doctor wrote a 0 in the date and then marked over it with a 1, you must carry your long form. Is it a big ticket under CSA2010 if you don't have the long form to back up the card with an error on it. This is courtesy of the WVDOT.

I've gotten two cards in a row with that kind of error on it, the first one got me the warning.

Every day the reasons to not go back to driving continue to add up.

At the rate things are going my next license renewal (in 5 yrs) I'll let the CDL go.

By then if I haven't drove it won't do me any good any way.
In the eyes of the insurance companies I'm a FNG with 0 experience.

I've had a couple with errors. It's more common than most people think.

I see a lot of errors on cards. When I do, I ask to see the long form. I don't know who fills some of these out but they make numerous mistakes. For example, put the expiration date the same day of the exam. Forget to put an expiration date. Forget to put exam date. No doctor's information. No driver's information. You name it, I have seen it.

Then on the flip side I get some driver's who think they are clever. Change the expiration date to make it a three year medical. And when they do it, take a blue pen and write over black ink. Yeah.........I wouldn't notice that. Or rip the expiration date off and say "Momma washed it and my wallet a few times." Uh huh......nice try.

This is the reason I hope they make these like license's. Have a database we can check the authencity of the card. Go in any truck stop and they have the JJ Keller version that any Tom, Dick or Henry can fill out and falsify. We get these all the times as well.

i like the canadian way--makes it easy--you have to have your medical in order to get your license--so its just one card--your license

I had a kid try this a few months back, we had impounded his car, he came in got his insurance card out, it was expired and had his parents names on it, the vehicle is registered in his parents name.

He gets mad and leaves, after we had taken a photo copy of the insurance card. He shows up the next morning, hands us a new insurance card, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that he scanned it into his computer, changed the dates and added his name in photoshop because the font on the year was different, and his name added under his parents name was a different font. The print out had the same exact dark spots on it as the photo copy we had did.

When asked about it he got mad and started screamning, then when I called his insuance company to confirm coverage they told me the policy had expired.

I told the kid I was calling the cops, he took off running. Mom showed up about 3 days later to pick up the car, and was very apologetic for her knott head kid.

In most doctor's offices the receptionists fill out the card and the doc signs his John Hancock....At least that's my experience...
I got dinged because the doc's med license was there...but no expiration date....
Also I was told by ODOT that since I wear bifocals....That my med card has to show that on the card.....
Where's that designation on the DL 51 or the DL 51A?

On a side note, Beast, a fake SS card can be spotted by the font change, also.
